Varun Dhawan at India Today Youth Summit

New Delhi, 17th September 2016:  Varun Dhawan entered to a rapturous applause. Dilwale - movie review
Dilwale is a one-fourth of DDLJ in its name and the entertainment content. A predictable story line, the film relies much on SRK’s shoulders. To make the matters worse, the film’s promos reminisce the viewer of the hit pair of DDLJ and this comparison makes it worse, as the lead couple lacks the freshness and charm of Raj and Simran of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. Raj (Shahrukh Khan) gets up from a nightmare from his past. He is a docile do-gooder who resides with his younger brother Veer (Varun Dhawan) on whom he dotes on and would go any distance to keep his wishes as he had promised their father Randhir (Vinod Khanna - a haggard) that he will take good care of him. Raj and Veer are settled in Goa, while the elder bro is easygoing, introvert and philanthropic, his brother is outgoing with a roving eye for all ‘things beautiful’. One day Veer, while on a car delivery bumps i ....

Badlapur - Hindi movie review
A dark thriller with its unique story telling approach gathering momentum with its pace, magnificent camera work and superlative performances from Varun Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi. Yet another spine-chiller from Sriram Raghavan who earlier made a notable revenge drama - Ek Hasina Thi (2004) and an out-and-out thriller - Johnny Gaddaar (2007). Badlapur doesn't preach, has no message, it is just a plain thriller which has an unpredictable ending. Raghu's (Varun Dhawan) turns upside down when his wife Misha (Yami Gautam) and son Robin are shot dead (un-intentionally) by the thieves during a bank heist and who ultimately escape. One of them Liak (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is apprehended by the police, but doesn't reveal the identity of his fellow mate, mentioning that it was the other person who shot the innocent at the bank. Liak claims that he hardly knew his partner in cr ....
