Welcome to the Jungle movie review
Riding on the huge success of Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015), the third installment of the Welcome franchise - Welcome to the Jungle attempts to revive the slapstick madness of its predecessors but struggles under its own colossal weight. While the original Welcome starring Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, and Welcome Back which again had Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal with John Abraham and Shruti Haasan were perfectly in sync with the cinematic sensibilities of their respective eras, this latest chaotic venture feels severely outdated. There is no actual adventure in the jungle as the film's title suggests.

Absurd Economics, Vanishing Humor in Welcome to the Jungle

The core problem lies in its overcrowded canvas and an absolute disregard for narrative logic in a film that has a flawed premise and dated execution. ....

Bhooth Bangla movie review
It’s disheartening to see this from Priyadarshan—the mastermind behind comic capers like Hera Pheri, Hungama, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Watching a veteran like Paresh Rawal reduced to repeating a crude gag about his "rear being on fire" is genuinely pathetic, especially when the film Bhooth Bangla takes the joke literally. It’s a total waste of a powerhouse cast, leaving talents like Akshay Kumar, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani with absolutely nothing to work with. Though Bhoot Bangla starts with a light touch, the narrative takes an agonizingly long time to find its footing, ultimately failing to deliver on its promise. The much-anticipated comedy between Akshay Kumar and Rajpal Yadav feels surprisingly out of sync, lacking the sharp timing that once made them a legendary duo. The story introduces us to Arjun Acharya (Akshay Kumar), a man in his late 30s struggling to keep his head abo ....

Hungama 2 movie review
The latest movie Hungama 2 which credits it to be filmed by Priyadarshan has hit the OTT platform on Disney Hotstar (available to ordinary members) 23-07-21. it was supposed to be a follow-up of the hugely successful and highly rib- ticking comedy Hungama with even Paresh Rawal reprising the character Radheshyam Tiwari and Akshaye Khanna albeit in a special appearance however it is a very very big let down. This was not expected of Priyadarshan to come down to low level comedy in a high class environment. It is a good subject, only if it was handled with love and care which seemed missing here and just a rush to complete schedules. Why are all the characters screaming and why is everyone behaving like caricatures is beyond understanding. Then there is tribute to a few hit Bollywood movies, like some scenes taken right out of Jeetendra's Parichay and Shilpa Shetty breaking ....

Coolie No 2 (2020) movie review
What is a sure shot formula for a movie's success? A good script, direction, acting or is it screenplay or none of the above. It is but rehash- and that's right, as this seems to be the current flavour for success. Refurbish one's own movies and serving it afresh with new production values, a new star cast and new settings. This is what David Dhavan has done with his own Coolie No 1  (this is his second one after Judwaa). Is it a dearth of new scripts, or did the director find some flaws in his original which he wanted to rectify (if that is the case, then he fails miserably) or was it a tribute to the original that was released in 1995 and now celebrating its Silver Jubilee year? The original Coolie No 1 with Govinda and Karishma was an entertainer and delight to watch. This time around he has taken his son Varun Dhavan to reprise the role of Raju coolie and Sara Ali Khan appears ....

Masti Express, movie review
Masti Express the new hindi film has two stories running in parallel: Rajpal Yadav and his wife Divya Dutta's eager desire to have their kid educated in a renowned school and then the auto rickshaw race which also forms a part of the story. Masti Express movie review... Director Vikram Pradhan also succeeds in creating hope in the viewer’s mind who would definitely want only their protagonist to win a race, whether it’s a chariot race, rickshaw race or even a cycle race – as portrayed in English and Hindi films. Masti Express does appeal in parts, not in its entirety. During some moments, the film is engaging, but not throughout as there are many instances or scenes where the story seems to be stuck and leading to nowhere. Raju (Rajpal Yadav) the auto rickshaw driver has a dream. He is impressed by the kids he ferries every morning to a renowned school where the kids study ....
