City of Dreams - Season 2 - review
The second season of this well made family political drama City of Dreams - is here upon us now trending on Disney Hotstar. All you wanted to know how politics works and what people do to remain in power is a lesson beyond that one learnt from Mahabharat as there the fight for power was between cousins but here it is within the family, between the brother-sister in the first season with the brother ending in a watery death at the hands of the sister and now in this season the tussle for power is between daughter and father. The series is structured well as far as the story-screenplay combo goes however it is not entirely seamless as it regresses in flashbacks without warning. The acting department is well managed with veterans Atul Kulkarni and Sachin Pilgaonkar enacting important characters around whom the series usually revolves. There are two surprises though in the form of Ejaz ....

50 Lakhs movie
This movie 50 Lakhs - has an interesting plot, an interesting idea which could have been executed a little more seriously, and it could be a hit thriller of the present times. However 50 Lakhs is a good attempt by the director, done at a shoe-string budget. It is all about five young friends in Hyderabad. These friends, four boys (Ramu, Shankar, Kumar, Vivek) and a girl (Aditi), are middle-class guys with middle-class aspirations. While, now here in Mumbai, mafia don Irfan Khan (Pawan Malhotra) decides to shift operations to Dubai. Since international airports are under surveillance and borders sealed, he hatches a plan to get into a domestic flight in Hyderabad with the Home Minister, and from there is a plan set forth. This is where 50 Lakhs scores over other mediocre films. Irfan decides to travel pretending to be somebody else, while four of his associates will hijack the fl ....

The existence of the ‘other world’ has been a subject of debate between the skeptics and the believers. The Final EXIT directed by Dhwanil Mehta explores this particular aspect and appears convincing to a great extent. It is generally believed that the 'other dimension' or 'other world' always exists in our life. Made by a debutant director this film depicts layers of emotions of the characters. The audience will actually sense it throughout the film. This makes the viewer actually feel involved with the characters. The subject of other dimension has been taken in several Hollywood films but it is for the first time that a Bollywood film delves into this complex issue. Almost every body, knowingly or unkno ....

Chapekar Brothers movie review
This movie brings alive the life and times of the revolutionaries who were proud of laying down their lives, fighting against the tyranny of the British rule. It was sometime in 1896 that the seeds of the revolution were laid in the city of Pune, the land of Peshwas and the establishment of KESARI - the newspaper headed by Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak bringing a change in the mindset of people. To awake, arise and fight against injustice. Giriva Productions' Chapekar Brothers is a part of the history, which touches the period of the late 19th Century when Plague was prevalent amongst the inhabitants of Pune city. Agreed, that the root cause of plague is unhygienic conditions which were man-made, but instead of finding a solution or providing medical relief to the citizens of Pune, the arrogant British Commissioner W. C. Rand ordered the complete family members to evict the city in the c ....
