Tenet - movie review
Averting World War III, a secret agent on a dangerous mission and the introduction of a new theory of 'Time reversal' is what Tenet about. If one is looking out for full on entertainment, action, hi-tech gadgets and glamorous girls like Bond films then you might be disappointed. Armed with only one word—Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist John David Washington journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time in in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle that was filmed on location across seven countries. Tenet has India connect with Dimple Kapadia playing a significant role that of an International arms dealer. Unlike most of the Hollywood films where India is shown as a third world country, there are scenes like on the streets in South Mumbai, a prestigiou ....

Mr India 1987
The first real big hit for Anil Kapoor, but more than his acting it was the element of sci-fi in the story which was the hero, as Anil himself was invisible in half the movie. The big hit that it was, Mr India was also one of the few directorial ventures of Shekhar Kapoor which he actually completed. A subsequent sequel for this movie was also planned with the same actors but was shelved after the death of Sridevi, its heroine. Recently again this movie was in the news as a trilogy was planned which Shekhar has opposed vehemently, even threatening to go to court against the makers. Sridevi an established heroine was paid the highest ever price for any heroine at the time. Actually Mr India could easily be called Miss India for the way Sridev played the character, with the hero being invisible in better part of the movie. Her ‘Hawa Hawaii’ song and the Charlie Chaplin act are a ....

Avengers: Endgame movie review
To understand the movie - Avengers: Endgame, one has to rewind into flashback of all the previous marvel superhero movies to check in which period did the ‘infinty’ stones pop up in each of them. Avengers: Endgame movie review... Though the narrative of Avengers: Endgame does visit these individually in their respective places and period, the makers have cleverly woven flashback scenes alternating the present reality when the surviving bunch of our superheroes encounter those in that time and place. However, while building all this makes the story stretched and debunks the time paradox of all the previous Hollywood time travel films, prominent amongst them being the 'Back to the Future' series. With Thanos gone and the stones destroyed at the beginning what best way for our sulking Avengers than to beat all this and get back half of the universe which was turne ....

Avengers - Infinity war movie review
Avengers - Infinity war - the much awaited Avengers movie for which Marvel had created such hype is finally here. Review by PAW GUPTA   One of the most expensive Avenger movie, Infinity war can draw parallels with the last X-Men movie Apoclypse which had the similar theme of one man out to rule the universe and our super-heroes forming a formidable resistance to the same. Here the super-villain 'Thanos' is out in search of the 6 Infinity stones which were created when the Universe was created at the time of big bang. He has a simple philosophy 'annihilate 50% of all civilizations in the universe to create a balance so that the other 50% can live on the given resources'. Though some may feel it is a noble cause, and his character is shown to have some emotions unlike usually assumed as an out-and-out brute in Infinity war. Looks like a distant human ....

Ra One - movie review
India’s most expensive film Ra One has finally released, with its aggressive pre-release promotion a month before its release. The special effects are excellent and are comparable to the best in Hollywood. Its concept is fine, the video game subject too is latest. Where it lacks, or what is unwanted is its scenes like the Karwa Chauth which is seen in the typical Indian TV soaps, and the protagonist, which the director thinks all the South Indians are curly haired. Ra One is the story of a father (Shah Rukh Khan) trying hard to ‘fit-in’ in his son’s (Master Armaan Verma) badass world, a cool dude son trying hard to ‘dude-up’ his dad from ‘aiiiyyyo’ to‘yo!’ and a mother (Kareena Kapoor) lost in translation between her husband’s ‘ingeva’ and her son’s ‘in’ it!’ Shah Rukh Khan plays a Subramaniyam - South Indian game designer, who still hasn’t come ....

8x10 Tasveer, movie review
8x10 Tasveer has an interesting idea - that a guy can look at a photograph and travel back in time to when the photo was taken. The film is an exciting tale around a person Jai Puri (Akshay Kumar) who is naturally gifted with psychotic powers to peep inside people's past gazing through their photograph for a minute. But this power is very risky as it can even take his life after that dreadful minute. 8x10 Tasveer movie review... Jai is a forest ranger in the woods near Alberta, Canada and lives in a cabin with his girlfriend Sheila (Ayesha Takia). He has been estranged from his parents, Jatin Puri (Benjamin Gilani) and Savitri Puri (Sharmila Tagore). Jai’s father is the CEO of a privately held Canadian oil company whose oil exploration causes environmental damage, which is the cause of tension between father and son. When Jai's father dies due to an accident, one Inspector Mr. ....
