Vibe – movie review

Kunal Khemu returns with Vibe, an intelligently crafted Hindi spy-comedy that marks a slick, westernised shift in his filmmaking style. Wearing multiple hats as the writer, producer, director, and lead actor Khemu delivers a fast-paced, genre-bending ride that is simultaneously a no-nonsense action film and a deliciously nonsensical thriller. I would not call it a comedy nor a spy thriller, but simply put it as an intelligently made comic film. What’s more is that the spotlight is on Preity Zinta, and there is also a newcomer Vansihka who debuts in Bollywood with this spy thriller. If you are looking for a tight, engaging entertainer that leaves you with a massive smile, Vibe hits all the right chords.

A couple of years ago, Vadh, a crime thriller starring Sanjay Mishra and Neera Gupta had released. But it's sequel, Vadh 2 is in no way is it connected to the earlier franchise. Probably to take advantage of its predecessor's success, Vadh 2 is made using the same title. Sanjay Mishra has done a great job playing the role of Shambhunath Mishra. He is a prisoner in the jail, and in the adjacent prison, Neena Gupta is imprisoned for committing two murders. This is not a story between the two. The story is has a louder and a bigger perspective. We have Prakash Singh, a good police warden, but Komal Mishra is the authoritarian jailer and another character, Shilpa Shukla, who plays Rajni the jail warden. One of the smallest titles ever in Indian film Industry V the Telugu movie. We are compelled to review this Telugu movie released earlier this year. The film has a great narrative, its well acted and has an impressive screenplay. V is billed as a psycho thriller of the year. But there is method in the madness as inspector Vivek Krishna (Sudheer Babu) finds out. There is also a love track of the cop with a murder researcher and book writer Apoorva ably played by Nivetha Thomas. The story that she is writing in uncannily close to the goings on and at one time the needle of suspicion also falls on her. But once it is clear she is not the one, she also helps in the investigation. Its main antagonist - the killer is obscure in the first half but reveals himself with clues deliberately left behind as if taunting the inspector to get him if he can.
