The upcoming Bollywood film BUNKER is inspired by the soldiers who safeguard our country’s borders, and it has been widely applauded at several international film festivals.
Director Jugal Raja’s Bunker depicts actor Abhijeet Singh playing Lieutanant Vikram Singh as the lone survivor with a fatal injury in a secret Bunker at the Line of Control in the Poonch sector of Kashmir that has been hit by a mortal shelling attack by the neighbouring country during the ceasefire period called between the two countries.
“I was initially doubtful if Rekhaji (Rekha Bharadwaj) would do the song, but it is the content that made her do a song in our film BUNKER,” exclaims Jugal Raja, adding, “Money can’t make films, but it is the relationship that transfroms into the making of the film.”
The renowned national award winning singer Rekha Bharadwaj mentioned, “Gaana itna khubsurat hai ki mujhe aisa laga ki andar se aaegi and then we instantly we clicked.” (I was moved by the lyrics of the songs that it touched my heart)
“When something good and big ought to happen, people say that the Universe conspires and it makes it happen! My film depicts the negativity of our neighbouring country. I have tried to show the sensitivity of the emotions that runs across thousands of our soldiers who are guarding our boundaries,” mentioned Jugal Raja.
Abhijeet Singh who plays the titular role of Lieutenant Vikram Singh mentioned, “For the soldiers they get only few moments as they have to be always alert.
It is so pitiful that they get to stay in a 12×8 bunker for days and even months for the protection of our country.”
BUNKER – the hindi film was shot in Madh island taking a time span of just 5 days. Of course the pre and post production takes months, since it ought to connect with the visible reality and acceptance of the audience. The film is a perfect example of a film made on a shoe-string budget, yet it is touted as very high in content.
