Is it the evil eye that has thrown apart the amorous and charming love between the girl and the boy? That is what the maudlin music video Dillagi features the pain of separation between two lovers featured by handsome Arpan Singh and alluring Rupali Suri. What is the mystery of the girl deserting the boy?
Speaking exclusively to Paresh B. Mehta, Editor of Filmytown.com, Rupali Suri and Arpan Singh collectively voiced “Jiska Dil nahi toota, usne zindagi nahi dekhi” which implies that the one who has never experienced heart-break in life… hasn’t experienced the true journey of life.
“Dillagi is a painful love song that features the back story of the heart-broken boy who has recurring thoughts about the girl and he is left wondering only one thing – why does the girl leave him?” reveals Arpan Singh who is the composer and singer of this touching song.
His co-star in the video, Rupali Suri feels otherwise, “Dillagi the music video is a dream sequence and gives the feeling of a film sequence filled with lots of romance. This music video is specifically different from others as there is something … like a song of a feature film and it conveys the true emotions of the characters.”
Gladrags Mega Model Winner and felicitated as the Miss India Tourism, Rupali Suri is an Actress, Model and Emcee who has appeared in over 50 Television commercials and has acted in the internationally acclaimed feature film Dad…Hold My Hand and the lauded Organic Dosti.
On watching Dillagi, one cannot fail to notice a peculiar aspect that all throughout the music video Rupali emotes through her eyes. While the Sardar boy Arpan effectively conveys despair and sorrow, day dreaming about her and wondering – Why? all of a sudden his love left him?
On working under the direction of well known filmmaker Ashok Nanda widely known for his recent feature film One Day (Anupam Kher and Eesha Gupta), Rupali mentioned, “Ashok Nanda gives his actors a lot of time to think and deliver the same,” adding that the director exactly knows what he wants to do. “It took me a while to understand his style of direction, but once I grasped it, it was such a smooth sailing that I was yearning to perform even after the shooting was wrapped up. Looking forward to acting in a feature film under his direction.”
“I was excited with Ashok Nanda selected this painful love song from one of my compositions. I am sure that he selected this one in particular as it has a pain in the singer’s voice and it is also close to my heart. I am glad that Dillagi has connected with the masses and the youth in particular,” remarked Arpan Singh who has been a singer and a lyrics writer since his college days and has over 10 of his songs trending on Zee, Tips and Saregama.
“Pyaar karo toh Dil Se Karo…. Aur phir zindagi bhar Nibhana (If one desires to fall in love, then go ahead with your unflinching love throughout your life),” this is Arpan Singh’s message to the youth of India.
