I am Kalam - movie review
Dr A.P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former president of India who is a source of inspiration to millions of Indians is the motivational factor of this film. I am Kalam is an ode to this noble Indian. I am Kalam is about friendship, love, truthfulness self belief and dreams. Chottu (Harsh Mayar), a poor kid who is very sharp and interested in studies. Unfortunately, his mother can't afford to send him to school. So, at a tender age when other children play with toys, go to the school, this boy has to work in a small road side food stall. So it does tackle the menace of child labour too. I am Kalam movie review... Bhati (Gulshan Grover) is the owner of this road side stall and there is another co-worker Laptan (Pitobash Tripathy) who always bullies Chottu. Waarrior Savitri, movie review
Niharica Raizada's action scenes are the highlights of this film which is a modern-day adaption of the fable in the Mahabharata about Satyavan Savitri. The fable says that Savitri is cursed since her childhood that whoever she marries, her husband would die. Defying destiny, Savitri undertakes various tough 'vrats' and emerges successful in dodging Yamraj (Lord of Death) eventually managing to evade her husband's death and the couple lead a happy mortal life thereafter. Waarrior Savitri is written and directed by Param Gill. Chehere, a modern day classic, movie review
It is a period drama set in 1952 in England. Chehere is a story about three women, who are actresses. Tarana (Manisha Koirala) was a superstar of the silent era, is retired from the glam and glitz. Could be her instinctive realisation that she has entered her waning period as a glam-girl in Bollywood, hence she moves away to the U.K. Chehere is a psychological thriller film written and directed by Rohit Kaushik which revolves round the life of this Diva of yester-years. Tarana still leads a high standard of living and she has even called her sister Amanat (played by Divya Dutta), a poetess, to stay with her in a huge mansion in the UK.
