Drishyam the conclusion movie review filmytown.com, jyothi venkatesh
After two immensely successful films built on deception, intelligence and nerve-wracking suspense, Drishyam: The Conclusion arrives with a difficult challenge: how do you keep audiences invested in a story they think they already know? Surprisingly, director Abhishek Pathak not only meets that challenge but delivers a film that many viewers may find even more engaging than its predecessors. Unlike a routine sequel content with recycling old tricks, Drishyam: The Conclusion brings a fresh narrative packed with twists, turns, and courtroom confrontations that keep the mystery alive till the very end. The film proves that the franchise still has enough fuel left in its tank to surprise even its most loyal followers.

Writing Takes Centre Stage

The biggest strength of Drishyam: The Conclusion is undoubtedly its writing. While the basic premise remains rooted in the world audienc ....

Dhamaal 4 - movie review
Much like a character in the film who makes a promise to God only to break it once their wish is fulfilled, Dhamaal 4 feels like it is tricking and short-changes its audience. Director Indra Kumar’s latest comedy venture, Dhamaal 4 tries to follow the standard blueprint of its predecessors, offering a mixed bag of slapstick nostalgia and chaotic storytelling. Sticking to it's earlier core, this installment is centered once again around an ensemble chase for massive wealth. What doesn't quite work out is that the film leans heavily on familiar franchise elements while adding newer, increasingly absurd situational gags. The latest film continues with the core of greed and selfishness, which began from the 2007 original film where four unlucky friends hunted for treasure buried under a giant ‘W’. In this story, the narrative catalyst this time shifts to the letter ‘M’. The plot ....

De De Pyaar De 2 movie review
De De Pyaar De 2 is a glossy sequel that falls much behind the charm of its predecessor, lacking the freshness of it's first part. The film sort of reminds one of Cheeni Kum quite often while watching it. This romantic comedy stumbles over uneven writing, not so funny moments and lacks emotional depth. After having convinced his family of his choice of getting married to Ayesha Khurana (28 years old) in De De Pyaar De, Ashish Mehra the 52-year-old London-based NRI investor now embarks on seeking approval from Ayesha's family. Though it shouldn't have been surprising that the girl's father is just a year older than the groom. Proclaiming that they are "We are educated progressive people, modern cultured thinking", yet the girls parents are not happy with her choice of marrying a man who is almost her father's age, divorced and has 2 grown up children. Ayesha tells Ashish ....

Raid 2 movie review
The maverick director Raj Kumar Gupta applies the rules of larger-than-life heroes to the new chapter of the unsung Income Tax officer Amay Patnaik that he created almost seven years ago. The only major difference is that Ileana DCruz played Amay Patnaik's docile wife, in this version, Raid 2, his wife is played by Vaani Kapoor and while Taoji (Saurabh Shukla is now in jail, waiting for his parole. The role that he played earlier is now being enacted by none other than Riteish Deshmukh. If the first installment was set in the Indira Gandhi regime, the sequel unfolds during the V.P. Singh regime. Without overtly underlining the intent, the film finds faults in the politics of social justice and coalition governments. The honest hero is Amay Patnaik, while the nefarious villain hails from a backward group that emerged from the chappal business, and the shape-shifting official who touche ....

Azaad movie review
The film revolves around young rebel lad Govind (Aaman Devgan) who becomes captivated by Azaad, a stallion owned by the rebel leader Vikram Singh (Ajay Devgn). Following Vikram’s sudden death, Govind's destiny becomes intertwined with Azaad’s, in this film which has been set against the oppressive backdrop of British rule, a la Lagaan. Set in British India, the plot revolves around a stable hand working for Rai Bahadur (Piyush Mishra), a local Zamindar aligned with the British. Govind becomes enchanted by Azaad. Vikram Singh is a rebel opposing the oppressive British rule. The highlight of the film is a thrilling nail-biting horse-riding sequence during its climax, enhanced by excellent cinematography and Amit Trivedi's commendable music, which is reminiscent of O.P. Nayyar’s music However, the script lacks substantial tension between its protagonist and antagonist, with conf ....

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha movie review
We are reviewing this Ajay Devgn  Tabu starrer 'Auron mein kahan dam tha'  which is about a couple's  love story that ranges 23 years from 2000 to 2023.  After watching the entire film, any mature viewer would have felt that the apt title should have been - Audience mein Kahan Dimag tha??!! This flick starring Ajay Devgan and Tabu with Jimmy Shergill in tow, and I wonder what made Jimmy to sign it? The movie is an old tale of Bollywood movies of 70s and 80s, that is about a young loverboy (Shantanu Maheshwari who plays the character of young Ajay Devgn) killing people to save the honour of his beloved (Saiee Manjrekar playing the young character of Tabu) thus going to jail and scarifying his whole life. Yes, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha delves into the emotional depth but isn't is somewhat like the stories of the 70s and the 80s? Anyway, writer-director Neeraj Pandey has added an u ....

Ajay Devgn in Bholaa
At the outset, let me warn you that this film is man adaptation of the Karthi starrer Kaithi. Right from the first frame till the last, the film abounds with excessive violence and gory scenes. Bholaa (Ajay Devgn), an absentee father waiting to unite with his daughter, is the protagonist, a man of very few words, who shows all his angst and pain through his eyes, in the film.Bholaa channels his inner rudra avatar to fight like a fearless warrior and battles a horde of gangs, right from bike-driving baddies to well-greased, kachcha-sporting villains, to remove all the obstacles that come in the way of him meeting his daughter. Bholaa, who is released from then prison after 10 years, is desperately waiting to meet his daughter for the first time, but IPS officer Diana Joseph (Tabu) leaves him with no choice but to help her in a high-pressure situation that involves the drug mafia, the c ....
