Umesh Shukla announces Gujarati play Ek Room Rasodu

Acclaimed Gujarati playwright Umesh Shukla who successfully ventured in Bollywood with films like OMG – Oh My God (Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar) and 102 Not out (Amitabh Bachchan – Rishi Kapoor), now brings another original Gujarati play ‘Ek Room Rasodu’ (which means One-room Kitchen) that is based on a true story.

Making a comeback into the theater scene, Filmmaker Umesh Shukla describes his new directorial venture as, “Ek Room Rasodu (One-room Kitchen) is an intriguing comedy play that is actually based on the true story. The play is full of laughter and tragedy one faces in life.” Umesh Shukla’s is known for his interesting content driven films, which always carries a message along with laughter.

Umesh Shukla, who started his career with theater, his first love. He has once again entered the world of drama in theaters through ‘Ek Room Rasodu’. The hilarious comedy drama based in the current times has an undercurrent of strong emotions and showcases the aspirations of the upper, middle and lower middle class people and the extent to which they go to achieve it.

Jayesh Mehta is the author of Ek Room Rasodu while it is directed by Umesh Shukla, produced by Saumya Joshi, Chetan Gandhi and Riddhi Nayak Shukla. The main characters of this realistic rib-tickling drama are Jayesh Barbhaya, Riddhi Nayak Shukla and Kamlesh Ojha.
