Amika Shail She is the girl whose melodious and husky voice is the reason for her breath taking performances launched her new single ‘Ankhan Sharabi’ – a party number here in Mumbai today.
Amika’s song has her signature singing style with hip music and lyrics that can set any party to fire. She says, “This track is very close to my heart as I have not only sung but also performed on the track.
The shooting of the song took place in Goa, which is considered to be the party capital of the country. It was a beautiful experience.”
Amika believes her mom to be the inspiration behind her music. She began her musical journey by learning Hindustani Classical music at the age of five.
Amika is now a post graduate in Hindustani Classical Music passed out as a Sangeet Visharad. She has been a part of television reality shows like Little Stars, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, National Talent Hunt, Little Champs and Indian Idol having won Star Voice of India, Doordarshan Talent Hunt and The All India Radio Show.
Not only acoustic covers and originals, Amika has given her voice to various advertisement campaigns and TV soaps. Her creativity, singing ability and screen presence also landed her a role in a soon to be released film ‘Mein Roshni’.
Samir Sen, the legend who has given music to over 60 films congratulated Amika on the release of her album. He said, “Amika has always been special and I have seen her growing from strength to strength. Four generations of my family have worked in music composing and music is in my blood. It is not very difficult to recognize a good and talented singer like Amika. She is extremely passionate and this new single will surely take her to newer heights.”
