The Past Never Dies, It Kills

Ghost - movie review

Ghost, the bollywood movie stars Shiney Ahuja as a detective and Sayali Bhagat as a doctor in stellar roles. Debutante director Puja Jatinder Bedi has come up with this first-ever truly gory film produced in Bollywood and shot in Mumbai and the picturesque Lavasa in Maharashtra. Ghost – movie review…

The film is an original love story that is brutal as hell, a gift for horror lovers. Another first will be that the film intelligently incorporates and adapts some chapters from the Bible.

City Hospital witnesses a chain of blood curdling spine chilling murders.

A beautiful young recruit Dr. Suhani (Sayali Bhagat) is faced with uncanny happenings at the hospital. She is stunned by the monstrous force that sweeps out of the night to cause a trail of gruesome killings.

What or who is responsible for this strange murderous destruction? The murderer uses a unique methodology, leaving behind no trails, defying all human comprehension.

A leading investigating agency entrusted with the case, assign it to their most competent officer Vijay Singh (Shiney Ahuja). Vijay a debonair romantic young detective moves intelligently to gather information about the mysterious murders. Among the first he questions is Dr.Suhani. There is immediate chemistry between the two.

The culprit moves again and we witness more horrifying brutal killings. Success eludes Vijay but he gets passionately involved in the case treating it as his personal war against the slaughterer.

What follows is an exciting path of love, intrigue, passion, deceit, revenge and nerve wrecking treachery.

Finally, God proposes and evil disposes.

There are some dangerous encounters between good and evil and portrayal of the most spine-chilling brutal butcherings, depicted for the first time in Indian Cinema. And it illustrates the battle of mystical forces led by angelic powers slaughtering evil for revenge.

Ghost has some impressive sequences and animatics in terms of ghost make up, eyes, sequences of ghost multiplication etal. Creation of bats, cockroaches, flies, beetles etc etc.

The lead character of Ghost is played by a Russian actress Julia Bliss.

Puja Bedi’s film has God and Devil, represented by an immortal spirit, battling each other. The crucifixion scene was so real and hard hitting that the viewers will need a strong heart to watch this scary film.
