Vash Vivash Level 2 movie review
Vash Level 2, Hindi and Gujarati horror flick is a sequel to the 2023 Gujarati film Vash which was then remade in Hindi as 'Shaitaan' that featured Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyothika. The Hindi and Gujarati versions are released simultaneously. Unlike the usual Bollywood horror flicks, Vash Level 2 surprises you as it doesn’t rely on cheap thrills. This original Gujarati movie leans into psychological tension, hypnotic manipulation that leaves one with a slow-burning sense of dread. Twelve years after rescuing his daughter Aarya from a sinister force, Atharva (Hitu Kanodia) discovers the evil never truly left her. When a group of schoolgirls fall under a violent, puppet-like trance, he’s compelled to confront the darkness once more—this time facing its source head-on: the enigmatic black magician, Pratap (Hiten Kumar). Though the idea of hypnosis as a weapon—used to con ....

Shodha web series review
Shodha, a Kannada language suspense crime thriller web series (with English sub-titles) is about an astute lawyer who files a missing person's report for his wife, after which he meets with an accident while driving. It’s not a courtroom drama, yet the tension crackles like one. The series dives deep into a maze of accusations, medical mysteries—memory lapses, allergic triggers—and sharp legal manoeuvres. With every reference to the Indian Penal Code, the lawyer doesn’t just argue; he performs, turning the investigation into a stage for psychological warfare. Directed by Sunil Mysuru and penned by Suhas Navarathna, the premise had the potential for a feature film adaptation. However, pursuing a theatrical release with A-list stars and a grand production scale would have significantly escalated costs, making commercial success a far more expensive gamble. Shodha effective ....

Param Sundari movie review
Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Param Sundari is a romantic comedy film directed by Tushar Jalota that falls below expectations, particularly after watching it's exciting trailer. Param (Sidharth Malhotra) is a Punjabi boy who travels all the way to the South to meet Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor) with matrimony in view. It was through a matrimonial site that suggest Sundari would be a good match for this Punjabi boy. This premise sounds interesting but what comes later is disenchanting as Sundari’s guardian Bhargavan Nair (Renji Panicker) insists that she marry her childhood friend who is now a qualified doctor having graduated abroad and more so because he is of the same caste. While love blossoms between Param and Sundari amid the picturesque backwaters of Kerala, the film falls short in it's narrative appearing like one of those been there and seen it romantic flicks ....

War 2 movie review
Hrithik Roshan returns as Kabir, a secret agent like no other, who infiltrates a powerful global syndicate that wants to rule the world. The film War 2 sets out to feebly suggest that democracy is far too an outdated idea for the corporate villain. For a change, it promises to put Hrithik in a morally ambiguous space, but as the mood is jingoistic and the star wants to play safe, the not-so-secret sauce of the script is ‘nation first’. The secret agent Kabir is accused of betraying the nation when he infiltrates a cartel, and his erstwhile mate Vikram alias Raghu (NTR Jr) is assigned the task of catching him red handed. Alas, the makers prove more successful in highlighting Kiara Advani’s curves than in conveying the contours of the storyline. It features a variety of stunts with a script that appears to be powered by artificial intelligence. This unintelligent sequel to War, ....

Dhadak 2 movie review
Dhadak 2 is a love story? Nah! It is a poignant conversation on privilege and what it means to have or not have it. Dhadak 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film by Shashank Khaitan and an official adaptation of the 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (also the name of the male protagonist) by Mari Selvaraj that sheds light on caste based atrocities (we have left discrimination in the rearview mirror at this point). Within the first 5 minutes of Pariyerum Perumal, Mari Selvaraj shows you just how raw and real this journey is going to be. He does not hold back on the gut-wrenching, bone-chilling imagery (something that is seldom, if at all, seen in mainstream Indian cinema) that is not for the faint of heart. But that is the reality we live in, and he serves it right back, reminding us of the cruelty we have constructed in the name of society. Not only is the screenplay in on Mari ....

Saiyaara movie review
Remember the Hollywood film - Fault in Our Stars? Or the new generation - the Korean romantic doomed love story - A moment to remember? Saiyaara is 'inspired' (polished form of conveying the idea) by these ill-fated love stories with gloss and an Indian flavour with new lead pair Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda with a predictable ending. No doubt the film hinges on the freshness and raw innocence of the lead pair of Ahaan Panday (Krish) and Aneet Padda (Vaani). Saiyaara is an evocative and heartfelt film that explores the complex tapestry of love, faith, and destiny. Ahaan Panday oozes raw energy that is in contrast to Aneet Padda's emotional scenes. Directed with finesse, the movie weaves a compelling narrative that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish. Though it stretches in the second half. The film tells the story of a young protagonist torn between tradition and modernity, ....

Kuberaa movie review filmytown.com
Kuberaa marks the first-ever collaboration between National Award-winning actor Dhanush and acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula. Without diving into too much detail, the film Kuberaa sets out to trace how a destitute man is drawn into the world of the ultra-rich before he rises to the occasion and begins to control the game. This trope is familiar territory in cinema, and while the writer-director uses it to his advantage, he also succeeds to refrain successfully from going overboard with Deva’s (Dhanush) heroism. Kuberaa, alias Deepak Nagarjuna) who is essentially a nice sleuth from CBI is forced to turn a high-level fixer for a corporate conglomerate (run by Jim Sarbh( Neeraj Mithra) and his father (Dalip Tahil), while Mandanna plays Sameera, a commoner girl (comically) dealing with life’s many struggles. Kuberaa understands the importance of these archetypes, but also takes care ....
