Dhara 302 is a story about a young lad Veer Singh who accidentally walks on the path of crime from the age of 12. Circumstances force him to continue walking on this path and he ends up becoming a bigger criminal. However, his lady love Kalpana makes him choose the right path.
But does he manage to live a happy life? Will the society accept a person with a criminal past? All such questions are answered through the story line
In an exclusive interview with FILMY TOWN, the producer Bhawani Shankar Yogi speaks about his upcoming film:
What is Dhara 302 about”
It is the story of a boy from decent family who takes up arms in his hands for the simple motive of having his clout in the Hadoti region of Rajasthan in Western India. It is based on a true story of a boy Bhanu Pratap Singh who belongs to a normal family and grows up in Hadoti, a region in eastern Rajasthan, where the attitude of an ordinary person itself is agressive.
As this is your debut film, what made you choose this subject?
I have come up on my own, have established in Property Business and now am foraying in to the Filmy World. There were 2-3 topics on which my director briefed me, and eventually I selected the story of a Rajasthan gangster / dacoit. Bhanu Pratap Singh is the pivotal character on whose life the film is based on.
What is the significance of the backdrop of this story which centers around Hadoti in Rajasthan?
Even though clean at heart, the folks are short tempered, resort to violence at the drop of a hat. So, this Bhanu Pratap Singh, a bright young lad, when he grows up, how gradually his destiny takes him to this path of crime and underworld.
Why would a viewer go to the cinema hall to see Dhara 302?
My film is all about Politics, politics in our daily lives and about the troubles and pain one undergoes in a Police Custody.
What is the USP of your film?
Songs are the backbone of my film and we have a wide spectrum of songs like a Sufi song, an item number and other melodious songs.
It is a debut film for your director too. Comment.
I have always banked on my director Jitendra Singh Naruka, who has a filmy background as he has appeared in a number of films, and being a sensitive person, he is the best medium to take my story to the masses. Incidentally, Jitendraji too is from Rajasthan, and is well averse to the Kota and Hadoti region, which unfortunately has not been spotted by our filmmakers despite having superb landscapes and deep historic significance.
I respect Jitendraji as a friend…. my elder brother and have imposed full faith in his work.
Is it the parallel cinema genre?
I would say it is a commercial film, which is artistically presented and hope should do well at the Box office too. We are planning to release it somewhere around January 2016.
