Mere Sai Ram movie review
Sai Baba the revered Saint and Spiritual Guru always guides his disciples through their troubles. This film is not a docu-drama on the life of Sai Baba like the earlier films, rather it delves into the relationship between a devotee and ‘Sai Baba’. It talks about the teachings of Saibaba and its increasing relevance in today’s world and how his principles can form the basis of an ideal society. Sudhir Dalvi, who is known for playing ‘Shirdi Sai Baba’ on the screen is essaying the revered saint. Dhondiram (Mukul Nag) is a Sai Baba devotee and hence Baba gives him frequent darshans. The movie explores this relationship between the revered saint and his devotee, and how the devotee makes himself a medium, to achieve a seemingly insurmountable task. Chehere, a modern day classic, movie review
It is a period drama set in 1952 in England. Chehere is a story about three women, who are actresses. Tarana (Manisha Koirala) was a superstar of the silent era, is retired from the glam and glitz. Could be her instinctive realisation that she has entered her waning period as a glam-girl in Bollywood, hence she moves away to the U.K. Chehere is a psychological thriller film written and directed by Rohit Kaushik which revolves round the life of this Diva of yester-years. Tarana still leads a high standard of living and she has even called her sister Amanat (played by Divya Dutta), a poetess, to stay with her in a huge mansion in the UK. Emraan Hashmi is back in a character as a street smart conman which he played in Jannat and Jannat 2. His recent ones Ghanchakkar and Ek Thi Daayan were a complete departure from the commercial Emraan Hashmi films. They were for the niche audience. Raja (Emraan Hashmi) makes money tricking people in the Three Card Monte. He is aided by his friend Raghav (Deepak Tijori), who solicits 'targets' and induces them to bet bigger. Part of the money is used for helping kids to pay their school fees. Balance of the amount is 'blown' up on Ziya (Humaima Malick) in a dance bar.
