A haunted mansion in Mumbai is to be demolished making way for a glitzy shopping mall. The gang of harmless Ghosts of different eras and social spheres residing in this house are to be dislocated. (Gang of Ghosts - Film Review) A late zamindar is the boss of the house residing with a British Lord of the East India Company era, a yesteryear actress, a spoilt rich girl, an unhappy rock musician, a Bengalee and a cab driver. These ghosts decide to fight their own battle against rampant development and win it. A remake of the commercially successful Bengali film Bhooter Bhabishyat, Gang of Ghosts comes up as mish-mashed comedy with sub-plots and undesirable buffoonery. Settled in London, Aman (Ali Zafar) hopes to marry Asha (Yaami Gautam), an Indian girl, also based in London. Asha is of Indian origin and Aman is a Pakistani national, both are residents in the United Kingdom. Aman visits the girls parents' house to seek their permission. On the day when he is supposed to meet Asha's parents, an unfortunate incident occurs as due to some misunderstanding he is mistaken as a terrorist and goes through the strip-search by the cops. He is let off at the station, and is in lowest of his spirits and wants to postpone his meeting with the girl's parents for some other day. Grand Masti
Grand Masti comes from the makers of Masti (2004), and ever since its initial promos it was projected as an adult comedy film, and so it is. It isn’t expected to be a family film. Though the comedy at times falls much below our expectations. Simply put, most of the times it is cheap humour. Take for instance, even the first part – Masti wasn’t appreciated by the family audience or the classes. This one too would be lapped up by the masses. Especially the Indian audience, maybe because there have never been Bollywood adult comedies before which can be equated or compared with. It is a bit surprising that Deshmukh Junior and Vivek Oberoi signed for such ‘adult comedy’ which in its conclusion, is much below the ideal or broadly adult comedy levels. Rohan Sippy has come up with a romantic-comedy film starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Pooja Salvi, Evelyn Sharma and Gaelyn Mendonca.
