Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shatrughan Sinha and Shakti Kapoor feature in FeverFM’s ‘Mahabharat’
The biggest radio drama in the history of radio
Since launch, Fever FM has taken thought leadership and introduced content (music and non-music) in various genres and has been the GEC of radio. The station also pioneered the concept of radio dramas in the industry and repackaged great epics like Ramayana, Gandhi, Bose, Bal Gopal and Jai Bajrangi for today’s youth. These recreations have been voiced by top stars including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah and Smriti Irani among others.
In September 2018 Fever FM launched “Mahabharat”, the biggest ever radio drama in the history of Radio. With a powerful starcast comprising Shilpa ShettyKundra as Draupadi,Shatrughan Sinha as Bheeshma Pitamah, Shakti Kapoor as Shakuni, Vivek Anand Oberoi as Karna, Shaan as Sri Krishna and Rahul Dev as Bheem, the radio drama is packaged to be contemporary and strike a strong connect with youth of the nation.
With choicest 100 episodes, Mahabharat plays across 13 stations of Fever FM for six months and the narrator is Vijay Raaz. The show has become a regime for listeners.
Actor Vivek Anand Oberoi adds, “I have always been fascinated by epics such as Mahabharat and its very strong characters. Karan in Mahabharat not only exuded enigma but also selflessness and worldly excellence. So strong was his character that even 5000 years after Mahabharat, the reference to the trait ‘danveer’ embodies and describes only him. I am proud and honoured to voice the lion-hearted Karan’s character on Fever FM.”
“Shakuni mama is a very riveting and colourful personality. The shades and layers to his persona are fun to explore. Deceptive yet funny, magnanimous yet narcissist, cunningness at the surface but a story underneath. I had fun playing this role on Fever FM’s epic – Mahabharat”, said actor Shakti Kapoor.
Goldy Nagdev, MD Hardarshan Group stated, “We have had a long and wonderful association with Fever FM from 2015. Fever FM keeps providing us high quality and compelling offerings that not only help us connect with our large target audience but also gives us the privilege of associating with properties from Ramayan to Sai Nath to Bal Gopal to Jai Bajrangi and now the greatest epics of all – Mahabharat. These properties bring on stage the rich culture and tradition of our India, an honour second to none. What’s more, we’ve enjoyed working with the team at Fever FM who also understands our business. I look forward to stronger association with Fever FM.
Talking about the epic “Mahabharat”, Harshad Jain, CEO – Radio and Entertainment, HT Media Ltd. said,“Mahabharat is a timeless epic and an integral part of Indian culture. Its characters, episodes and learning hold relevance even in today’s times. We strongly felt that the epic should be presented to the young generation, and in a contemporary manner.
