Vidya glitters at Lakme Fashion Week 2013 for Award Winning Designer Duo Farah & Firdos
‘Chak De’ girl Vidya Malavde walked for the Bharat Gaurav & several other awards winner designer duo Farah & Firdos at LFW 2013. The label “Farah & Firdos” are from believers of their soul philosophy ‘fashion keeps your boredom away’. Their forte lies in exclusivity and innovative sense, in stylization of silhouettes to the delicacy in drapes. Born to the silk city,their hearts were influenced to flow in the oceans of fabrics with colors,textures and sheen. A unique journey brought forth through music played by clicking bangles and looms, revolutionizing ethnic wear by entangling threads of life.
Designer Farah termed this as a step further to the line they presented at the previous edition of the fashionista. Says Farah, “Our collection this time is for the many moods of the women, we don’t believe in restricting our beautiful ladies to either traditional or western outfits, hence our collection has something for everyone.”
Her design partner Firdos adds, “We believe in innovations and intricacy and hence our this collection has fabric that has been created by ourselves as a tribute to all the weaver women of India who put their hearts out in creating masterpieces for us, it is for them that we designers stand in front of you today.”
On the other hand, on a completely different note, the showstopper – Vidya couldn’t stop but gush about her lehenga choli. Says Vidya, “Indian brides are bogged down by heavy jewellery and outfits that weigh more then themselves but Farah & Firdos have created such a beautiful wedding ensemble that I can dance with this at my own wedding had I been a bride:-)”.
