Dacoit A Love Story - movie review
Shaneil Deo’s debut feature Dacoit: A Love Story tries to straddle Telugu cinema’s larger-than-life storytelling with a Hindi sensibility, but the result is uneven and overstretched. It is an intense action-romantic drama blending themes of love, betrayal and revenge. This thriller presents a gripping narrative set against a rugged, crime-driven backdrop. At its core, the film is an old-school romance gone wrong. Haridas (Adivi Sesh) is unjustly imprisoned after being found near a dead body, while his lover Saraswati (Mrunal Thakur) becomes entangled in a web of betrayal and misplaced loyalty. What could have been a taut love-versus-law drama quickly spirals into a confusing, overlong narrative.

Tere Ishq Mein aims for grand emotional scope but overreaches with a meandering, illogical narrative that compromises believability. While the film puts its bets on emotional intensity and aesthetic spectacle, it falters in core storytelling, character consistency and pacing. Zanjeer is an action film directed by Apoorva Lakhia, which marks the Bollywood debut of Tollywood actor Ram Charan in the lead role as the cop, along with Priyanka Chopra an NRI on a visit to friends wedding in Mumbai, and a witness to a murder. Before we go further, if this remake is compared to the original Zanjeer (Amitabh and Jaya), then it would be wise to rate it as 2/5 stars. As there is no one to match the intensity and angry young man looks of Amitabh few decades ago. There should be no comparison with the 1973 film with the iconic Amitabh and Pran as Sher Khan. Watching the film as the new generation would view it, this one has all the action and fun expected in a Bollywood film.
