Entertainment - Hindi Movie Review

Junior, the endearing dog is the highlight of this comedy drama, which practically fails to tickle the viewer. Read further …  Entertainment hindi movie

The hare brained of a story is very the name of this simple film with our hero Akhil Lokhande (Akshay Kumar) a jack of all working overtime in many jobs to pay for his father’s hospital bill who he soon realizes is not unwell and is also not his father.

His father is a multi-millionaire Mr. Johri from Thailand (Dalip tahil in an innocuous role). In the meantime Akhil is in love with a serialwalli (Tammannah Bhatia) (wasted) and promises her father (Mithun Charavarti – abhorring) he will become a millionaire and only then take the hand of his daughter.

Thus to lay his claim on his father’s fortune he fast flies to Thailand only to find that the lonely father who has just kicked the bucket has left all that he had i.e. Rupees 3000 Crores in the name of his beloved pet dog “Entertainment” thus begins the cat and mouse game between Akhil and Entertainment with Akhil out to kill the dog and the dog being a step ahead in smartness always outdoing him.

In the meantime their father’s second cousins M/s. Karan (Prakash Raj-dabbang-2) and Arjun (Sonu Sood- Dabbang-1) play their villainous tricks and take over the empire legally.

Akhil and entertainment join hands to get back their legacy.

Thus forms the rest of the story and the climax.

Akshay Kumar has reached that stage of his career where he doesn’t need any critism nor appreciation. But it is pathetic on the Director-Duo’s part to throw in humour at the cost of the poor little pets. Krishna Abhishek is too loud and unrealistic in his humour. Mithun Chakraborty doesn’t fit in the humourous situations in here. Johny Lever is a master of Comedy, while Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj are in this film to make a fool of themselves (literally).

Production values are just average with mediocre digital effects (like the unrealistic mansion with its vast lawns and gardens, and quite often there after).

It is Junior the Dog who has a majestic presence all throughout the film. He too, seems tired of being around in this senseless comedy.

The movie cannot be put in any genre though the director has tried hard to raise laugh in the form of Krishna Abhishek –Akhil’s friend mouthing the names of Bollywood stars to complete sentences but that too becomes repetitive after a time.

Except on some occasions, the humour falls flat.
