Om Shanti Om
Om Shanti Om is a Manmohan Desai type of a masala film of the 1970s. It has the premise of reincarnation as was in Subhash Ghai's "Karz". Okay, it is a joyous film which has its silly giggling and overacting in parts, especially the typical mother (Kirron Kher) of a struggler son, who lives, thinks that one day her son would definitely become a super star of Bollywood, since her husband could not fulfill his dream. A typical filmy mother. Its here and a few other scenes where the film appears unrealistic. Debutante Deepika Padukone is the hasina in this case. Shanti has a pretty face, charming smile and an old-world charm… She is the reigning superstar of 70s. Shah Rukh Khan is the deewana, he is in love with her. Jab We Met
Geet (Kareena Kapoor), a boisterous Sikh girl who is on her way from Mumbai to her hometown Bhatinda to tell her parents about her boyfriend on her way. Habitually, she talks nonstop, and on the way, she runs into Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor), a young, rich and handsome man who is disillusioned with life after being dumped by his girlfriend. Abhay Narula (Gautam) and Vasundhara Dave (Nisha Kothari) are neighbors and fall in love. They are from affluent families, their parents disapprove of their relationship and so they take off from their homes and rush towards Goa. Go movie review continues.... Everything was easy and beautiful until their motorbike breaks down. They get a lift by the injured Chief Minister's Personal Assistant who is fleeing the city since he has the audio cassette which proves that the CM is responsible for his deputy's murder. This injured PA to the CM dies on the way. Its adventure in the rains, dancing around, and running away from the killers who want the cassette at any cost. The protagonist of this film is a ten year old - Nanhe Jaisalmer and his idol – Bobby Deol. Nanhe Jaisalmer is set in the desert city of Jaisalmer, the story encompasses a short period in Nanhe’s life where he learns his life’s most important lessons from the person who he deems most important – his friend, Bobby Deol. Nanhe lives in Jaisalmer with his mother, Suman (sister) and Raja (the camel) and earns his livelihood as a tourist guide who arranges camel safaris. He is an enterprising boy who speaks four foreign languages without being literate. Nanhe’s mother has brought up the two children single handedly and while Suman took an interest in her studies Nanhe runs away from it. Unofficially based on the original hindi movie SHOLAY, which was a landmark film, the movie Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag has been presented by Ram Gopal Verma, a maverick director keeps the basic storyline as same, but the setting and interpretation is different. Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag ... The introduction of the villan Babban is terrifying, and the characters of Jai, Veeru, Thakur, Basanti are presented in the present day times. To a certain extent, RAMGOPAL VARMA KI AAG does justice to those characters, especially Gabbar, who wore a sinister look on his face all the while. Well, Gabbar is history, now its Babban The original romance of Dharmendra-Hema Malini is portrayed as the Ajay Devgan-Nisha Kothari "jodi", which is not as the one to remember for in years. Though the basic premise of the movie is the same as well as a number of sequences which have been lifted directly, Sanjay Chhel’s screenplay does give the it’s own look and feel which in turn makes PARTNER it’s own unique movie. The film begins with an intriguing premise and goes on to keep the audience guessing about the twists and turns in the story. To make it clear once and all, the film has nothing to do with the Goods and Services Tax implemented by the present government in the centre.
