Tai is a Marathi word and it means – elder sister. In The Name of Tai movie review…
Directed by Ujjwal V. Thengdi, In the name of Tai is a female oriented story inspired by a true story of a well educated valiant woman in a village who faces the wrath of the politicians and builders.
Tai (Nishigandha Wad) is a courageous lawyer who chooses to tread the dangerous path of confronting the rich, powerful and politically well connected people. Tai is determined to bring justice to the poor village farmers who are a victim of the high handedness of the land sharks who act in connivance with the politicians.
It is about the challenges and the humiliation she undergoes, yet not budging a bit on her battle for the common cause of protecting farmers land from the corridors of Power.
This story is based or let us say ‘inspired’ by a real life incident of an ordinary woman who struggled for decades against the rich and powerful politicians and the builders who wanted to snatch the prime piece of land of the poor and deprived farmers in a village in Maharashtra.
