Deewana Main Deewana is the much-delayed film directed by K. C. Bokadia which stars Govinda, Priyanka Chopra and Kader Khan in lead roles.
KC Bokadia, a well known director who has given many bollywood films, some of them where huge hits, while some just disappeared as soon as they appeared. The last hit film as a producer was more quite a few years ago – Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam which starred Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
In this romantic thriller cum comedy cum murder mystery, Govinda plays role of Basant, an easy going lad who is an easy going person and Priya (Priyanka Chopra) enters his life. Basant hasn’t yet met Priya, but one glimpse of her, and then he is obsessed with this pretty young lady.
Basant is a rich spoilt brat, an eligible bachelor, but doesn’t find any girl interesting. Until he sets his eyes on Priya. It is love at first sight and Basant is ready to go to any lengths to get the pretty lass.
To that extent that, even if it means lying about his identity.
He goes all out to win her over and in the process, he keeps making one mistake after another. The more he tries to impress her, he takes help of many lies and the more she starts disliking him.
The film was signed by Priyanka Chopra was signed in this film way long back, and this is very much visible in the movie. There were some scenes which were filmed recently and it is evident in the film.
Govinda doesn’t need any comments. He is the only one which goes through the role of a guy in garish clothes. Wasn’t he the one liked by us in the 90s?
There are some funny moments, which remind you of the films of 80s and 90s. Its nothing new. In most of the film you get to see Priyanka Chopra of a decade back who could be seen ‘trying hard’ to act.
