The movie begins in 1992 with a naughty, mischievous girl shown getting thrashed; everyone is upset with her except her father who thinks she is a pure genius and simply loves her.
On the other side , in Delhi, a young boy is shown conning his parents and going to a movie. the story then jumps 14 years, the same boy, Nikhil (Sidharth Malhotra) is shown sneaking out of his house in Delhi to attend his friend’s wedding in Mumbai, where he has a chance encounter with a girl , Meeta (Parineeti Chopra) escaping from her house.
