Billu, movie review
The film is a story of a simple ordinary man who led an extra ordinary life. Billu (Irfan Khan) is a meager barber - Bilas Rao Pardesi who lives in his Budbuda village with his wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta) and two great kids Gunja (Mitali Mayakar) and Ronak (Pratik Dalvi). Life was bitter sweet... we can say more sweet than bitter. Nothing is going right for him. From getting rejected for loan applications to even losing his children’s schooling as he can’t even afford to play the fees. His shop is a mess and not many people come to visit it either. Bhram is the story of a business tycoon family of two brothers Shantanu (Dino Morea) and Devendra (Milind Soman) rolling in the goodies life has to offer. The master director Subhash Ghai is back not with a bang, but with a convincing restraint in his latest film Black and White. Pleasingly, even the leading actors, Anil Kapoor and newcomer Anurag Sinha have portrayed splendid restraint all thru Black and White, the film. The newcomer is given a few lines, while he emotes thru his facial expressions and dramatically intense eyes. Black and White read further... Anurag Sinha is a fidayeen suicide bomber sent from Afghanistan to India, whose motive is to make the Indian Independence Day celebrations more explosive. Bombay to Bangkok, movie review
Nagesh Kukunoor in his latest film Bombay to Bangkok portrays that love has no boundaries and even can surpass language barriers. It is a cute romantic story with its heart in the right place. It also has a subplot within the plot, which comes as a surprise towards the end. Flow and treatment in this film is same as Kukunoor's earlier films, eventhough the byline screams 'same-same, but different'! Bombay to Bangkok has simple narration is simple; and some moments between Shreyas Talpade and Lina Christianson are handled very romantically. It is typically Kukunoor's expert execution of the story makes a difference. A 3-D Toon Film on the adventures and deeds of Lord Ganesha's childhood. Read on Bal Ganesh review... Bal Ganesh, directed by Pankaj Sharma is a 3D animated film. The film begins with engrossing and fast-paced story of the child's transformation into Lord Ganesha. Brilliantly illustrated is the confrontation between the young Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva, where, on his mother's (Goddess Parvati) orders, child Ganesha stands guard at the door as she goes for her bath. He lets no one in, not even his father Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva loses his temper, and even threatens him, but Ganesha doesn't budge. Lord Shiva unleashes Nandi and his other followers on Ganesha who single-handedly tackles them and even Lord Brahma. Lord Shiva then resorts to his dance of fury - Tandava. Bhool Bhulaiya movie review
Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a hindi remake of a Malayalam super hit film - Manichitrathazhu, which has a better ending than the other Priyadarshan movies like Dhol, etc... Its a slapstick murder mystery which thankfully has buffoonery restricted only to the first half of the movie and that's tolerable. The second half really scares the audience, which apart from frightening, is also amusing and exciting. The movie begins with its usual slapstick comedy rendered by Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani and the gang - without Akshay Kumar. It is acceptable since the story moves on alongwith the regular giggling moments. Bhool Bhulaiya has songs, comedy, suspense and spirits, and some portions are not for the faint hearted. Buddha Mar Gaya is all about money and its side effects. Laxmikant Kabadiya (Anupam Kher) is a business tycoon, whose company is on the verge of offering an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Rs 5000 crore. Post the IPO it would make LK’s company one of the largest business houses in the country. And ofcourse a lot of money within his family too. However, LK dies a night before the IPO opens in the market. This leads to series of erroneous events. A holy spiritual man, by Vidyuth Baba (Om Puri) advices LK’s family to hide the news of his death for the next two days, till the time the application money for the shares would be received.
