With lockdown still on in certain places like restaurants, malls, multiplexs and specially Cinema Houses, there has been a torrent of releases on the web platform or OTT as it is called, both in form of new web series as well as new movie offerings like Bahut Hua Sammaan. This is now the new norm to keep us all busy during this slowdown period and also keep them entertained. Though some big releases are still being held back for hopefully a full theatrical release later this year. While some of these OTT offerings are run-of-the-mill, some outright boring, some gripping and some entertaining . Latest in this sequence is the film- Bahut Hua Samman on Disney-Hotstar. BEES SAAL BAAD (1962)

The first genuine murder mystery bordering horror made in Bollywood by a debutante director Biren Nag, Bees Saal Baad was basically of the suspense or psychological thriller genre. It was produced by the famous singer and music director Hemant Kumar, who has also sung some fantastic songs in the movie. Bees Saal Baad had launched the career of actor Biswajeet in Hindi movies. The male cast is shown well dressed to the extent that the normally obese looking Asit Sen too looks dapper as the detective. It was adapted and reinterpreted in the Indian context from the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel of Sherlock Holmes “Hounds of Baskervilles”. Bobby (1973)

Bobby was released on 28 September 1973 and was an instant hit amongst the Young India of the time. Teenage love stories were hitherto unseen on the Indian screens. That too with absolutely fresh faced youngsters actually acting their own age. This movie launched the careers of both Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia in lead roles. Though it was planned with Rajesh Khanna in mind but as Raj Kapoor who was also it's Producer and Director and whose Mere Naam Joker had bombed badly on the silver screen, he is said to have not been able to afford Rajesh thus he launched his own son Rishi instead.
