A spectacular fantasy film Baahubali: The Beginning that enthralls you with it grandeur and a war between two brothers – Baahubali played by Prabhas and Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati) for a kingdom. Baahubali: The Beginning movie review…
Period films are supposed to be so designed immacutely as there is no room for mistakes. Saby Cyril, the art director of the film has created everything from scratch that is the chairs, thrones, palaces, swords, armor and costumes. Quodos.
The highlight of Baahubali is the waterfall (definitely created digitally) which appears so real that one feels the immediate desire to visit this place once in a lifetime atleast.
This is the first of the two parts which is a masterpiece in the entire history of Indian cinema. Director S.S.Rajamouli admittedly said that he was inspired from epic Mahabharata in making Baahubali. And that says it all.
A baby, apparent heir to the kingdom of Mahismati is so guardedly smuggled out by a lady who manages to cross the huge and strong currents of a waterfall without bringing any damage to the newborn. It is spotted by the tribals in a village located at the foot of a waterfall.
Brought up by a tribal woman, who is a Shiva devotee, the boy is named Shiva as the woman takes him to be a boon from the gods. Shiva grows up as the Baahubali (Prabhas), a human with god-like strength and valor.
Right since his childhood, the child Shiva is so enchanted with the waterfall, that he has made up his mind to climb up to the top one day in his lifetime.
After repeated attempts to scale the mountains and climb up to the top of the waterfall, Shiva finally achieves his goal, only to encounter Avanthika (Tamannaah), a female warrior and member of a rebel group.
A bit irrational, the romance between Avanthika and Shiva blossoms from Shiva’s very first sight which is established with a dream song.
Avanthika leads Shiva to his destiny beyond the walls of Mahishmati, where despotic king Bhallal Dev (Rana Daggubati) is installing a 50-foot gold statue of himself.
Shiva is royalty and heir to the Mahishmati kingdom. Son of the noble king Amarendra Baahubali (Prabhas in a dual role) and queen Devasena (Anushka Shetty), he is destined to fight the evil king Bhallal Deva, who tortured his parents and forcefully seized their kingdom.
