Haal-e-Dil is the dream launch of producer Kumar Mangat’s daughter Amita Pathak and her other two co-stars who also are debutants – Nakuul Mehta and Shekhar Suman’s son Adhyayan. The film directed by Anil Devgan is the story of Sanjana (Amita Pathak) who is in love with her rich classmate Rohit (Adhyayan Suman). The three new faces provide freshness to this visually rich movie filmed exquisitely at stunning locales. Where else can one enjoy the rich locales of Swiss Alps during the train journey to Shimla? Sanjana and Rohit study in the same college and are in love. She is on a train ride from Mumbai to Shimla. Mere Baap Pehle Aap, movie review
Comedy specialist director Priyadarshan has come out with another not so great comedy story about a widowed father and his authoritarian son - Mere Baap Pehle Aap. The director who has produced good comedies like Hera-Pheri and Malamaal Weekly comes up with just an average entertainer. Anyway, good performances and the dialogues add fizz to the story. It is the story of an authoritarian son (Akshaye Khanna) who bosses his long-widowed father (Paresh Rawal) about living away the remaining years of his life like a decent old gentleman. But the father, well under the influence of his lusty old friend (Om Puri), is inspired to relive his youth again and marry his childhood sweetheart (Shobhana). Summer 2007 movie review
Summer 2007 is a hard-hitting film based on a pertinent issue; it has a touch of humanity and a noble story. It is the story of five medical students who experience a rude awakening of sorts when they visit a village in rural Maharashtra. The film opens with a peasant putting himself on fire - depicting the Vidarbha farmers' mass suicide. Summer 2007 movie review... Aamir the film is an impressive debut for Raj Kumar Gupta as a director. Even more so, it is a first film for the music director, the cinematographer, the leading man, the new production unit apart from the director. Gupta stays away from the clichés that a newcomer may be susceptible to. Aamir movie review... Director Mashoor Amrohi has tried his best to present the film as a spoof of other stereotypical commercial films. Humsey Hai Jahaan is the launch film of the grandson of the legendary film maker Kamal Amrohi. Living life as a drifter and a con man, Sameer Khanna (Mashhoor Amrohi) makes his way to Singapore and lands a job working as a ‘Recovery agent’ for Gary Rosario (Jackie Shroff) who is an owner of nightclubs. Earning his livelihood by cheating people of their money, Sameer’s life takes a turn when his own brother finds himself in need of financial help. With his boss Gary Rosario refusing to help him out, Sameer is left with no viable options. Sarkar Raj is sequel of film Sarkar directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The plot has surprising twists and turns. It has tight screenplay, powerful dialogues, excellent cinematography and impressive close ups. Right from the opening sequence in the film Sarkar Raj, Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan) is seen holding a cup of tea in front of his face. It is similar to Sarkar in the original as a symbolic gesture that he has now taken over the command from his father Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan). An animation film on Bheema's son - Ghatothkach. The director informs you right at the beginning that he's taken few liberties with the story in the name of presenting a picture which makes it visually entertaining. One of the most ignored figures in mythology is Ghatothkach. Despite being a half blue-blood, this good-hearted son of the Pandava Prince Bheema and the Rakshasi (Demon) Hidimba never got the recognition or credits, especially, being the son of a powerful father.
