Avengers - Infinity war movie review

Avengers – Infinity war – the much awaited Avengers movie for which Marvel had created such hype is finally here.

Review by PAW GUPTA

One of the most expensive Avenger movie, Infinity war can draw parallels with the last X-Men movie Apoclypse which had the similar theme of one man out to rule the universe and our super-heroes forming a formidable resistance to the same.

Here the super-villain ‘Thanos’ is out in search of the 6 Infinity stones which were created when the Universe was created at the time of big bang. He has a simple philosophy ‘annihilate 50% of all civilizations in the universe to create a balance so that the other 50% can live on the given resources’.

Though some may feel it is a noble cause, and his character is shown to have some emotions unlike usually assumed as an out-and-out brute in Infinity war.

Looks like a distant human fear of same proportions within all of us if it comes to this who will survive?

Here Thanos wants to play God. Thus uniting all the super hero characters of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Dr. Strange’ and of course our Avengers. Though all the characters in Infinity war are given good billings but it is here that Dr.Strange and Ironman stand out.

The fire works we missed in the movie Dr. Strange – the magic tricks, are in ample display here, and with each movie Ironman gets more tech savvy. With too much happening on the screen to focus attention, one is left with no option but to see it again, probably to understand what the story writer wanted us to see as we come out of cinema halls. To be honest, even this reviewer has several questions in mind and surely we shall have to wait for the subsequent franchise to answer those.

Avengers – Infinity war is mounted on a huge scale with excellent FX, yet it felt like something was amiss. Thor is relegated to a sort of special appearance and Hulk doesn’t even come out and hence has to be provided a special suit to live up to his stature.

The scene where our super heroes try to wriggle the super power glove off the villain is choreographed well. Rest so much is going on with three parties of super heroes in three different locations in the Universe that it seems a deliberate attempt to get us in the theaters again to make out whats going on.

The ending of Avengers – Infinity war is abrupt and is left to our imagination with a hope of the continued franchise. Who survived and who perished will be a give away. Thus see it for yourself and decide what’s next.
