Shubh Nikah movie review
What makes the narrative of Shubh Nikah different from the other yarns of this ilk is the fact it maintains a progressive tone in storytelling even as it sets out to convey its message, making the film a well-intentioned effort, says Jyothi Venkatesh. The film is about a young Hindu boy Munnalal Mishra (Rohit Vikram) and a young Muslim girl Zoya (Aksha Pardasany) who fall in love with each other, without realising the obstacles and difficulties that their love will have to face. At first, though both the families object to this relationship when the love birds convince their respective families that the other is willing to convert, they agree. The families once again develop cold feet when, because of the impending conversion, trouble-makers try to start mayhem and threaten to start communal riots. The plot is definitely as old as the hills about two people from di ....

Ajay Devgn in Bholaa
At the outset, let me warn you that this film is man adaptation of the Karthi starrer Kaithi. Right from the first frame till the last, the film abounds with excessive violence and gory scenes. Bholaa (Ajay Devgn), an absentee father waiting to unite with his daughter, is the protagonist, a man of very few words, who shows all his angst and pain through his eyes, in the film.Bholaa channels his inner rudra avatar to fight like a fearless warrior and battles a horde of gangs, right from bike-driving baddies to well-greased, kachcha-sporting villains, to remove all the obstacles that come in the way of him meeting his daughter. Bholaa, who is released from then prison after 10 years, is desperately waiting to meet his daughter for the first time, but IPS officer Diana Joseph (Tabu) leaves him with no choice but to help her in a high-pressure situation that involves the drug mafia, the c ....

Khela Hobe is thriller that is directed by Sunil C Sinha, that begins as a drama which turns into a thriller when a single woman Shabbo (Mughda Godse) who avenges the atrocities imposed upon her family by the village Thakur. This could probably be the last film that veteran actor Om Puri has been featured and it has the glam girl Mughda Godse playing the simple woman small town, yet in a pivotal character in the story. Khela Hobe is set in a small town in Benaras and is all about the patriarchial society that still exists in several part of the interiors of our country. The narrow mindset of the locals, their attitude about the single woman Shabbo who runs a Beauty parlour and the superficial family values intertwined along with the hollow relationship of the locals and the powerful in this sleepy town are portrayed in this drama. Main Raj Kapoor Ho Gaya movie review
The film Main Raj Kapoor Ho Gaya revolves around Raj (Manav Sohal) and Suman (Arshin Mehta) who have a happy marriage until an unfortunate incident takes place and claims Suman’s life, forcing Raj to become an alcoholic a la Devdas. Raudra - Marathi film review
What instantly hits you in Raudra (Marathi film) is the depiction of simplicity of lives of the village folks and the rustic atmosphere of the serene village in Maharashtra. The film Raudra that is set in the 1970s sensitively portrays the various emotions of humans that is craftly woven around the search of of a hidden treasure by the protagonist, a census officer Trimbak (Rahul Patil) who supposedly is in search for the hidden Devi temple in the village of Wadgaon. Dilli Kaand movie review
Dilli Kaand as the name suggests somewhat means - a conspiracy in Delhi. However the core of this film is loosely based on the Nirbhaya gang rape incident that occurred about a decade ago. That is just the first part of the story. Much has been written about the Nirbhaya incident about what is the background and the torture that girl had to face and then the court proceedings and so on. What the debutante director Kritik Kumar has attempted is that the nature of power games played in the capital city of India. Therefore the film's story can be broken into two parts. As regards to the first part, it is Kaashvi Kanchan who hogs the limelight with her cheerful and chirpy college student. She has displayed a variety of emotions that of a loving daughter of her parents, a dedicated college student and then her individuality that of a student who falls in love with her college mate. Kaas ....
