IC 814 - The Kandahar Hijack review
The OTT series IC 814 - The Kandahar Hijack released on and made for Netflix on 29th August 2024 is concerning everything you wanted to know about the darkest chapter in aviation hijack history of India. As the credits say the series is inspired by real events and includes an adaptation of a book titled ‘Flight Into Fear’ written by Devi Sharan (the original captain of IC 814) and Shrinjoy Chowdhury. It throws light on the events that led to and ahead of the subsequent release during the hijack of Indian flight IC 814. As it is a true story which envisages the utter failure of the bureaucratic machinery and the series also depicts an equal apathy of the coalition government of the time. Pyaari Tarawali The True Story traces the journey of emotions and struggles that a girl goes through yet it also depicts (though subtly) the helplessness of a single man who is subject to ridicule just because he is still unmarried at the age of 38. This man works hard to keep his wife happy but towards the end his wife deserted him as this woman had some more desires in life that she gets swayed by sweet talks of her ex-boyfriend and ends up in a mess only for her own wrong-doings. Being Daniel Craig's third performance as James Bond and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva as the main negative character. The film is shot on locations in the United Kingdom, China and Turkey. In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. The British intelligence unit at MI 6 has been attacked and it transpires that it is part of an attack on M by former MI6 operative, Raoul Silva. Skyfall also sees the re-emergence of Q (Ben Whishaw) and Miss Moneypenny (Naomie Harris), while it is the last film of the series for Judi Dench who plays M and dies in the climax of this electrifying thriller. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt)- is waiting to mop up.
