Well known Builder- Developer Dharmesh Pandit is now set to create a mark in the film industry. “Though I am a builder by profession, I have a dream to build great waves in the film industry,” says Dharmesh Pandit who is releasing 20 20 Maharathi in Hindi across India.
What is the film 20-20 Maharathi about?
A retired Supreme Court judge Vishwanathan returns home to hear the unpleasant news that one of his grandsons Arun is accused of murdering a classmate in a medical college.
How did you start your career?
I was a contemporary of stalwarts like Paresh Rawal, Neeraj Vohra and Uttank Vora in college. we all would see films of all languages and discuss them. Once we all saw a film of south superstar Dileep and wanted to make a film with him but he suggested we take Salman instead.
What made you think of backing 20-20 Maharathi?
As it was not possible to work out on my film, I came across this Malayalam blockbuster 20-20 Maharathi starring Malalayalm stars like Mammoty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Jayram and Dileep directed by veteran Joshiy. As my friend Uttank Vora has composed the music of this film in a Panchamda style, we have decided to release the film in on a grand scale.
Having planned a Bollywood movie, you are backing a Malayalam film. What is it there which is not in Bollywood?
I have no issues with Bollywood stars and the film making process. I have noted that the Malayalam film industry has a strict discipline, their content and their simplistic lifestyle. They have no airs at all. This makes it more easy to deal with them.
What is next on the anvil?
I have my upcoming film ‘Take it Easy’ that is soon to be released. It is about schoolchildren and will definitely win awards. I am also in the process of making a Gujarati and a Marathi film.
20 20 Maharathi is a Malayalam-language action thriller film written by Udayakrishna and Siby K. Thomas. The film is directed by Joshiy, and distributed by Dharmesh Pandit. The film stars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Dileep, Siddique, Manoj K. Jayan and Shammi Thilakan. Nayanthara and Prithviraj Sukumaran have a Special appearances in the song Hey Dil Deewana.
