For Bollywood, the year 2020 begins on a ‘historical’ note with the anticipated release of Rajesh Mittal’s SHAHEED CHANDRASHEKHAR AZAAD following the release of Ajay Devgn’s TANAJI – The Unsung Warrior. The audiences ought to get ready to revise their knowledge of Indian history with freedom fighter Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azaad’s hard-hitting and realistic story produced and directed by veteran filmmaker Rajesh Mittal of Mittal Advertising & Distribution that also released the film on 24th of January.
Rajesh Mittal completes 40-years in this film industry and this is 41st film as a maker whose last few releases were ‘Birsa Munda – The Black Iron Man’ and ‘Jhansi Ki Rani Laxmibai’.
Jagmohan Kapoor, one of the world – renowned Bollywood writer and the founder member of Writer’s Association and it’s ex-President was the special guest on the occasion with other dignitaries, unit of the film, well-wishers and members of the fourth estate.
The songs and trailors of the film were screened for all the invitees. Screenplay – dialogue writer, producer – director and distributor Rajesh Mittal came on the dias with revotionary leaders Chandrashekhar Azaad (played by Hemendra Singh), Bhagat Singh (played by Rishabh Raj), Rajguru (played by Atul Dixit) and Sukhdev (played by Jitu Soni) to share few insights on this historical film.
The film has 4 songs. Dinesh Arjuna and Vakil Babu have provided the musical scores. The Lyrics are penned by Naiyer Jaunpuri, N. Upadhyay and Rajesh Mittal himself. The songs are rendered in the voices of Kumar Sanu, Udit Naryan, Khushboo Jain, Dinesh Arjuna and Indra Naik.
‘Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azaad’ is based on this great revolutionary and his fight for freedom since his tender age. The major portions of the film have been shot at actual and picturesque locations of U.P. like -Banaras, Lucknow, Allahabad, Agra and many others including Jharkhand, Ranchi and Mumbai,” says producer – director Rajesh Mittal. He further adds, “Chandrashekhar Azaad joins hands with Ashfaque Ullah Khan, Pandit Ramprasad Bismil, Rajendra Lahiri, Govind Prasad and other freedom fighters to form an organisation called – ‘Hindustan Republic Association’. There are many important aspects like train robbery, assembly bomb blast and oter hair-raising incidents to secure freedom. Chandrashekhar also meets his counterparts like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Batukeshwar Dutt, Bhagwati Charan Verma and other freedom fighters.”
The film highlights the freedom fighters who laid down their lives to gain Independence and will be an eye-opener to the new generation of all age groups. Elucidating about this historical drama, Rajesh Mittal says, “The film is based on true and untold factsof this great Indian revolutionary leader and have done full justice. Before writing the screenplay and dialogue I have gone through more than 50 books and in certain objectionable scenes have proved it at the censor board. The film has been passed with an UA certificate with a duration of the film is 147: 28 minutes.”
Produced and directed by Rajesh Mittal on his own screenplay and dialogue, the film has a mix of strong power-packed performers from stage, theatre group from Jharkhand and Bollywood. Apart from Hemendra Singh (in title role), Rishabh Raj (as Bhagat Singh), Atul Dixit (as Rajguru), Jeetu Soni (as Sukhdev), Anil Dhawan (as Chandrashekhar Azaad’s father) in its starcast; it also features Pooja Khushwha, Anil Nagrath, Brownie Parasher, Arun Mathur, Urvashi, Sukhpal Sidhu, Pushpa Verma, Chandan Kashyap, Sayed Shama Husain, Javed Sheikh, Ranjit Bihara, Rajesh Kumar Sahu, Jharna Chakrawarthy, Dev Dutt, and many others.
