Indian cinema has achieved an unprecedented milestone as Meta: The Dazzling Girl clinched the Best Experimental Film award at the Cannes World Film Festival. This remarkable achievement brings immense pride to India and establishes a new benchmark in global cinema.

Speaking to Paresh B. Mehta, Prasanth revealed a bit about his award winning film, “Meta is an innovative cinematic experience that transcends boundaries, inviting audiences to engage with the story through imagination and visual translation. By concealing the protagonist’s face, we empower viewers to connect with her emotions and actions on a deeper level. Meta’s universal themes and language overcome cultural and linguistic divides, making it a truly global film.”

“Among the several firsts, Meta is a non-dialogue survival film where the face of the protagonist not shown throughout and it has a complete visual-driven narrative. There are no dialogues or writings throughout the film and we have implied Universal themes and language,” adds Prasanth Mambully.

Speaking about his vision for this particular film, Prasanth Mambully mentioned, “META is an innovative cinematic experience that transcends boundaries, inviting audiences to engage with the story through imagination and visual translation.”

The visionary film is produced by Tilok Kothari under the banner of Njoymax OTT Pvt Ltd, in collaboration with Trisha Studios Ltd. and Shalimar Productions Ltd., and is directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Prasanth Mambully.

Meta: The Dazzling Girl has redefined storytelling as the world’s first faceless, dialogue-free, and borderless film, breaking linguistic and cultural barriers to deliver a universal message. Its groundbreaking approach also earned the film recognition as one of the top three films at the Jaipur Film Festival, solidifying its reputation as a cinematic masterpiece.

Being in the film industry since over 2 decades, Prasanth Mambully is a multilingual writer and director, his diverse filmography showcases expertise across languages and genres. Mambully’s directorial debut in 2008 featured Indian cinema legend Mohanlal. He has since helmed seven films across four languages in India. Currently, he is in pre-production for the Arabic-language film Falcon, scheduled to commence shooting in 2025.
