Kucch Luv Jaisaa - movie review

Barnali Ray Shukla debuts as a director with Kucch Luv Jaisaa.

Today is 29th Feb, and Mrs. Madhu Saxena’s Birthday. It comes once in four years and her husband has forgotten her birthday. She has been feeling unhappy lately the way her husband has been taking her for granted and her marriage is getting into a fatigue-zone. Kucch Luv Jaisaa movie review…

Madhu is a housewife and a mother of two kids. She is a full-time mother, wife, Maths/Hindi/English teacher, agony aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter, sister and the works. Her husband and family form the centre of her universe but she doesn’t receive that kind of attention which she deserves!

She just has no time to be ‘simply Madhu’.

And now today she has two options, she can choose to sulk and pity herself for the next four years or reinvent Madhu and take a grip over her life.

She chooses to heat out and enjoy her birthday as she wishes and in this she meets Raghav.

Today is also Raghav’s birthday and he chose this day to make a life-changing decision… he wanted a date with his girl Ria..!! But fate had other plans ! Rather than a cozy date, he instead is now on the run.

Raghav is a criminal and is on the ‘wanted’ list of Mumbai Police. He forges passports and has helped criminals leave the country on fake names… but he has had enough of living on the edge!

Raghav wants a change. He wants to settle down with his girl-friend, but she has other plans and she has set a trap for him!! He is escaping cops as he almost walked into a trap laid by the police.

Raghav has a plan to lay off the law.. he wants to mingle with the ‘normal’ people!! And in this … he begins to do things that do ‘belong’ to the normal world… which begins with him going into a coffee shop.

And he runs into Madhu!

Raghav is thinking of his next move and Madhu wants to begin her day… a casual conversation begins and she mistakes him for detective and Raghav takes this cue. He continues to pretend he is one!!

With this begins a one-day adventure of the duo and it changes their lives forever.

Have you noticed that how difficult it is sometimes .. to communicate to the ones dearest to us?
Why is it easier to get that nagging load off our chest with a total stranger sometimes… maybe while waiting for a delayed flight or maybe in a coffee shop… like in this film – Kucch Luv Jaisaa.

Kucch Luv Jaisaa explores that aspect that with strangers there is no baggage of a relationship. Okay, love can be unconditional but relationships can not. So here we have two total strangers who have nothing in common, except their birthday.

A movie which is an eye opener for those married couples who take their partner for granted. Shifaali is an extremely competent actor while Rahul surprisingly does not fit at all playing a tapori gangster.
