The Four Jokers are still dreaming about money and rich life

Double Dhamaal - movie review

The gang of Dhamaal – the four good-for-nothing jokers- Adi, Manav, Boman and Roy are back again in Double Dhamaal!

Joker No 1 Riteish Deshmukh is Roy, who fancies himself as the greatest actor in the world. But alas, whether he¹s a slit eyed Chinese crook Lee or blacker than tar Tukya Kale, he ends up with a kick on his backside. Joker No 2 Arshad Warsi is Adi. The master brain amongst the birdbrains, his ideas for making easy money sound foolproof and easy. Joker No 3 Jaaved Jaafery is Manav, Adi’s adoring younger brother. Blessed with a trusting disposition, sunny smile and zero IQ, he specializes in saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and getting everybody into trouble. Joker No 4 Ashish Chowdhry is Boman. In his quest for easy money he will go to any lengths and do anything. Double Dhamaal has all these four jokers.

They are still as stupid and useless as before. Hard work is a strict no no and the only work they have ever done in their lives is to lie down on their backsides and dream about a good life where they have everything without doing anything!

They have just one purpose in life: to get rich, any which way. This time they plan to blackmail and dupe their tormentor Kabir (Sanjay Dutt) of the first part.
King of Spades Sanjay Dutt is Inspector Kabir Nayak, who’s given up chasing criminals so that he can chase the big bucks! On the way he¹s collected a Merc, a sexy villa and sexier wife! And now he’s playing for the highest stakes of his life.

And then suddenly they see their old arch enemy – the corrupt Insp Kabir (Sanjay Dutt). But he¹s no longer a cop and instead of chasing crooks, he’s chasing money – driving a Mercedes and has a posh office and a lavish villa.

Queen of Spades Mallika Sherawat is Kamini. Her curves may shout Danger, but this bar dancer-turned-wife has a razor sharp mind that can anticipate trouble long before it shows up.

Queen of Hearts Kangna Ranaut is Kiya. Kabir’s sweet and pretty little sister not only knows what her crooked bhaiyya is up to, she¹s part and parcel of all his nefarious deals.

The four madcaps are green with envy and decide that come what may, by hook or by crook they will share Kabir’s good fortune. And so they blackmail Kabir into making them his business partners.

They are in seventh heaven, yippee, all their dreams are coming true. What they don¹t know is that soon their dreams are going to turn into nightmares because Kabir has his own hidden agenda, only shared by his sultry wife Kamini (Mallika Sherawat) and lovely sister Kiya (Kangna Ranaut).

And so starts a game of one-up-manship and its Double Dhamaal, with both sides having tricks up their sleeves and where sundry characters like bhai turned sadhu – Batabhai (Satish Kaushik) and King of Casinos Johnny Bonzola, turn up to make the foursome¹s life miserable. And of course there¹s a helluva lot of money at stake.

Incidentally, with the help of another gangster, Mohsin Bhai (Zakir Hussain) they also flee to Macau, where they see Kabir, Kamini and Kiya living in a lavish villa, driving a Limousine, and are owners of the casino titled “The Four Jokers”.

They change into different disguises with the plan to get their money back. Also featuring Satish Kaushik as Batabhai who’s changed his business from bhaigiri to sadhugiri and Brandon – as Johnny Bonzola, the king of casinos in Macau.

Double Dhamaal works like an average Bollywood comedy where the girls Mallika Sherawat and Kangana Ranaut are mere eye candies and it is one big circus with the guys hogging most of the limelight. It is a completely mindless, non-sense comedy.
