Della Bella Badlegi Kahani on Waves OTT

Standing true to its promise of offering relatable, socially grounded storytelling that combines entertainment with meaning and branding it under the Simple Cinema category, WAVES Originals announces the release of its latest Hindi feature film, Della Bella: Badlegi Kahaani, a heartfelt story of self discovery, individuality, and the evolving meaning of love. The film will be available for streaming exclusively on WAVES starting July 18, 2025.

Set in the fictional North Indian town of Mohabbatganj, Della Bella follows the journey of Dellu, a bright and grounded young woman known as “Della Bella” in her coaching classes. As she steps out of her small-town comfort zone, she begins to confront the pressures and expectations that come with growing up, including how to think, how to look, and how to live.

Her friendship with a new classmate, Shanky, brings warmth and connection but also nudges her into spaces where conformity is often expected. Refusing to be shaped by external definitions, Della Bella questions, resists, and asserts her right to choose her own path.

The film is not just a love story. It explores the emotional terrain before love fully takes form, when a young woman’s identity is still evolving and her voice is beginning to rise above social expectations.

Directed and written by ad-filmmaker Neelesh K Jain, Della Bella features music by Raaj Aashoo with vocals by Shaan, Hamsika Iyer, Seepi Jha, Swati Sharma, and Raaj Aashoo. Choreography is by Mudassar Khan.

The story is by Sanya Jain, with screenplay by Roop Agarwal and Yashassvi Neeraj Tripathi. Cinematography is handled by Romit Pillai and editing by Amit Aanand.

Aashima Vardhan Jain makes her big-screen debut in the lead role, supported by a diverse ensemble cast including Ali Asgar, Kavita Kaushik, Govind Namdev, Akhilendra Mishra, Ritik Ghanshani, Paritosh Sand, Samta Sagar, and Lokesh Mittal. Each character adds depth to the narrative by representing different layers of society through language, attire, and behavior.

The film’s music album reflects Dellu’s inner journey. It captures moments of emotional discovery, generational change, and the tension between tradition and individuality. The songs serve not just as interludes but as narrative anchors that carry the story forward.

Della Bella: Badlegi Kahaani also marks the introduction of Simple Cinema, a new category by WAVES Originals that focuses on relatable, socially grounded storytelling that combines entertainment with meaning.

At its heart, Della Bella encourages young people to find strength in their own voice, to define love on their own terms, and to stay true to who they are
