Bombay Velvet, Hindi movie review
A period drama of the 60s, a visual treat of Bombay of that era, Bombay Velvet is created with artistic grandeur, has been let down by a confusing plot. Anurag Kashyap has to be applauded for lavishly recreating Bombay of the 60s. This is where it ends as the film has neither the entertainment factor or the chilly seriousness of a mafia ruling the politics and maneuvering the city plans for its benefits. Anushka Sharma is the cute fashionable jazz singer Rosie who sparkles in embellished body-fitting gowns. Bombay Velvet revolves around the story of how Bombay transformed its landscape during the 60s and 70s and the corrupt administration, which is hand in glove with the mill owners and the rich. This apart, the story is woven around the backdrop of Ranbir-Anushka romance. Ranbir Kapoor's character is used by people around him, including his mother. A small time hood, with a ....

Ishq Ke Parindey
Love knows no boundaries. A voice over at the opening states that if the partition hadn't taken place, it would be a Gulistan, instead of Hindustan and Pakistan. This is the message of Ishq Ke Parindey, a poetic and realistic love story of a boy and a girl across the border. Saare Jahan Se Achchha Hindustan Hamara, Hum Bulbule Hain Iski Ye Gulsitan Hamara When Allama Iqbal wrote the above couplet he never knew that the seeds sown by the British would lead to the creation of India and Pakistan. The land nurtured by the romantic poetry of Ghalib became a battleground. Friends for generations were separated forever inthe name of partition. Humanity was buried under hatred. Sheen, the love bird from Pakistan flies down to Lucknow, the city of Nawabs. Faiz, the poet at heart, is mesmerised by the angelic beauty from heaven. Across rooftops and in ....

PK - Hindi movie review
Its OMG! Oh My God revisited. PK is a satire on "God and godmen" with an unique narration, superb performances from the pivotal characters, yet is a lengthy film which stretches on the same issue of having called a 'Wrong Number' while seeking the almighty. The Managers of God have been again exposed in this film where an alien (resembling human race) comes to earth on his mission to survey the life and times of the inhibitants of this planet. It is not a futuristic or a sci-fi film, PK deals about the ordeals of the alien man who is clean hearted, doesn't tell lies, doesn't hurt anybody, has the ability to grasp the language within few hours of just holding hands of a human. Like the data being transferred from one hard disk to another. This person has the ability to adapt easily to the new surroundings. It beigns with a space ship hovering around the desert of Rajasthan, it lands an ....

Happy Ending
A rather repetitive venture of Eros International and Illuminati Films. The trailers were enough proof that this film was yet another typical Saif Ali Khan movie, using the exact formula he seemed to have mastered in the past. HAPPY ENDING - movie review So as far as the plot line goes, Happy Ending is a story about a commitment phobic Casanova – Yudi, a rich, handsome and charming, sadly aware of these qualities himself resulting in an endless trail of heartbroken women in his life. A goofy ‘stuck-in-his-married-life’ sidekick for a best friend (Ranvir Shorey) and the circumstantial entry of a charming new girl, so much just like him that this commitment phobic is now serious about her and ends up bending his nature and becomes ready to commit to this lady. Yudi (Saif Ali Khan) is a ‘veteran’ author so to say, a ‘one-novel-wonder’, still cashing in on his singular s ....
