Son of Sardaar is a remake of Telugu movie Maryada Ramanna directed by S. S. Rajamouli. This Bollywood comedy-romance drama is directed by Ashwni Dhir. The basic theme of this films is purely Indian. Mehmaan to Bhagwaan hota hai. Which implies that certain families in India treat a guest like a God. Incidently it is from Ashwini Dhir, who directed the 2010 hit film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge which had a somewhat similar theme about a guest in the house.
