Lanka - movie review
Jaswant Sisodiya (Manoj Bajpayee) is a man in power of the entire Bijnor, a district in Uttar Pradesh in India. Lanka the film beautifully captures the life in this sleepy town. The cinematographer has skillfully depicted the lifestyle, mannerisms of the typical locals in U.P. and one feels literary amidst the people of Bijnor. Lanka - movie review... Also called as Bhai Sahab he is cruel, shrewd, keeps political connections with all parties and works his way out under any circumstances. Being offered a ministerial seat in the ruling party, Bhai Sahab rejects it, stating – its better to rule as a king in a small province, rather than losing his identity if he joins any political party. I am Singh - movie review
The film is inspired by real people and events. I am Singh is about the Sikhs who were victims of mistaken identity and hate crimes post 9/11. It also deals with the pride and honor of a Sikh's turban. Not only were the Sikhs mistaken to be some other community, they were mistaken to be terrorists and they were a target of racist and communal violence from the American society. People belonging to the Islamic community experienced this similar treatment. Due to the unfortunate happenings of 9/11 and the culprits involved being Muslims, the entire Islamic community was being targeted in America. I am Singh is about how a young man caught in the middle of a conspiracy, stands up to attain justice for his family, for his identity of being an Indian, of being a Sikh. One more thing, it has been given an adults certificate, maybe because of its particular content where the handsome studs operate as male escorts. Desi Boyz movie review... Dam 999 - movie review
Dam 999 is a film to watch in a 3 Dimensional format. Only disappointment here is that the 3 D effects are just peppered somewhere in between and then the special effects come to play in the last 20 minutes of this film. It is produced by UAE based BizTV Networks and the direction and script is credited to upcoming director Sohan Roy, who is primarily an established mariner with a Guinness Book record to his credit. Dam 999 movie review... The film is based on real life incidents bringing to life the memories of 1975 Banqiao Dam disaster in China which claimed the lives of an estimated 250,000 people. Shakal Pe Mat Ja - movie review
Shakal Pe Mat Ja is an unconventional film and its title itself sounds funny. The concept is interesting, and the four protagonists are very natural, but the film lags in its departments of screenplay and editing.
