Monica - movie review
The story of Monica is about the stormy and turbulent relationship between a scheming politician, aspiring to be the Chief Minister of a state in North India and a political journalist aiming to achieve the star status in her field of work. Monica is about love, lust, conspiracy, scams, deception and murder and it is ingeniously constructed by Sushen Bhatnagar who has penned the script and directed the drama. Bollywood has seen several films centred around women journalists like the ones done by Sridevi in Roop Ki Rani, Choron Ka Raaja, Konkona Sen Sharma in Page 3, others starring Dimple Kapadia, Kangana Ranaut and the last memorable flick about Rani Mukherjee in No One Killed Jessica. Yes, this one seems a little different, as the protagonist in this film is diverse from the ones we have seen before. Monica is not just about a media person, but also looks at the various roles ....

Masti Express, movie review
Masti Express the new hindi film has two stories running in parallel: Rajpal Yadav and his wife Divya Dutta's eager desire to have their kid educated in a renowned school and then the auto rickshaw race which also forms a part of the story. Masti Express movie review... Director Vikram Pradhan also succeeds in creating hope in the viewer’s mind who would definitely want only their protagonist to win a race, whether it’s a chariot race, rickshaw race or even a cycle race – as portrayed in English and Hindi films. Masti Express does appeal in parts, not in its entirety. During some moments, the film is engaging, but not throughout as there are many instances or scenes where the story seems to be stuck and leading to nowhere. Raju (Rajpal Yadav) the auto rickshaw driver has a dream. He is impressed by the kids he ferries every morning to a renowned school where the kids study ....

Milenge Milenge, movie review
Love happens, if you let it; even if destiny has to step in to lend a hand. But when its about finding that special person you're going to spend the rest of your life with, should you risk tempting fate with a test of that love or should you just embrace your destiny? Milenge Milenge movie review... Finally Milenge Milenge is released and its promos point out that this is Shahid and Kareena’s last film together. The film seems dated as it was shot much earlier and as Shahid and Kareena have separated 3 years ago in real life. Shahid Kapoor is Amit. He is your regular rich guy, who smokes, drinks and flirts with gay abandon. He takes life and affairs of the heart lightly. And by the time he realizes he actually loves Priya, its too late. She's left him and their love to the vagaries of fate. Kareena Kapoor is Priya. She's a die hard romantic, who believes that destiny and only ....

Muskurake Dekh Zara, movie review
Muskurake Dekh Zara is a story of a young 'boy man' named Vivek. It's a story of simple emotions & disappointments of love and life. Muskurake Dekh Zara movie review... Vivek (Gashmeer Mahajani) has an 'upright' attitude, and ability to put people in their place and add lightness into moody and mundane situations. He does this not only when he interacts with his life's love Preeti (Twinkle Patel) but also when he encounters and jests with the simple, funny and harmless folks - like the eccentric live in DLT (Duniya Lal Tripati), the 'badnaseeb' hotel manager Khaatkar, the curious curio shop owner Elton, the heroine's eternally inebriated Chaacha who feels that one's 'spirit' can be derived only from downing spirits. The film's lighter moments beautifully intersperse with the hero's portrayal of a character of depth. Vivek has his own unique yet simple way of looking at life. ....

Mission 11 July, movie review
A different film from other movies based on the subject of terrorism as there is almost no violence in the movie Mission 11 July. A perfect example of a youth who is confused and can easily be pushed in to the terrorism. Debutant director Vinod R. Thakur attempts to re-live the tragic attack on parliament in 2001 in Mission 11 July. It was almost a decade ago that the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists attacked the India Parliament in New Delhi. Several policemen and civilians were killed, and then finally the 5 terrorists were slayed by the security forces. Shahid (Tarun Khanna) is a good-natured young man, who loves his `ammi’ (mother) and his `watan’ (mother-land) with equal fervor. He lives with his mother in Pathanwadi, and like any normal guy, Shahid has friends, Arjun and Rafiq with whom he has close relationship and shares everything. His girlfriend Raavi ( ....

Maruti Mera Dosst, movie review
After the huge success of Hanuman, another film on Lord Hanuman is released - Maruti Mera Dosst which could have continued the trend of Hanumanji’s popularity. However this film targeted supposedly for the kids has been given a U/A Certificate. Not surprising, since the evil characters in this film have been given powerful roles and appear too scary. Maruti Mera Dosst is about Lord Hanuman and there are real life characters, witches and innocent little children. Two kids essaying central roles in this film which merges real characters with animation. It has some spectacular visual effects and computer graphics, but it just falls short of being impressive. Rameshwari (Ritika Shrivastava) is an innocent eight year old girl who lost her mother at birth is brought up by doting albeit naive father Kunwar Raghvendra Singh (Chandrachur Singh). She longs for nothing but a mother's love, ....
