Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai movie review
Bidding adieu to direction in Bollywood films, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is director David Dhawan's last film (as announced by him). Instead, this film falls much below expectations compared to David Dhawan's debut film Aankhen (highest grosser of 1993). Similarly it is nowhere near Biwi No 1, Shola Aur Shabnam, Saajan Chale Sasural, Haseena Maan Jaayegi and the long list of his super hit films. Probably planned as a energy booster to his son Varun Dhawan's career, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is about Jass (Varun Dhawan and Bani (Mrunal Thakur) who are a married couple yet have disagreements on family planning. This leads to their marriage falling apart. A professional marriage photographer, Jass moves abroad to start fresh and finds new romance, but things get complicated. Dacoit A Love Story - movie review
Shaneil Deo’s debut feature Dacoit: A Love Story tries to straddle Telugu cinema’s larger-than-life storytelling with a Hindi sensibility, but the result is uneven and overstretched. It is an intense action-romantic drama blending themes of love, betrayal and revenge. This thriller presents a gripping narrative set against a rugged, crime-driven backdrop. At its core, the film is an old-school romance gone wrong. Haridas (Adivi Sesh) is unjustly imprisoned after being found near a dead body, while his lover Saraswati (Mrunal Thakur) becomes entangled in a web of betrayal and misplaced loyalty. What could have been a taut love-versus-law drama quickly spirals into a confusing, overlong narrative.

Toofaan (2021) movie review
The much awaited or shall we say much anticipated movie this time of the year after a dud called Radhe. The trailer of Toofaan seemed fabulous and hard-hitting but the actual movie was a disappointment. This movie now streaming on Amazon is about national integration. Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Parsi only a Sikh and a Buddhist missing from the main religious diversity that India is. Jokes apart, one would have expected it to be a sports film ala Bhaag Milkha Bhaag what with the same team of director, producer and actor teaming up again. Namely Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra with the directorial baton (who even regales us with his two bit August presence as some national boxing official), Excel Studios as the producer and Farhan Akhtar as the hard working actor.
