Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly (Arshad Warsi) is a small-town lawyer from Meerut, who dreams and strives to find fame and fortune in a big city, where he fights an open and shut case against one of the biggest and most influential lawyers, Tejinder Rajpal (Boman Irani). The small town guy sets out to make it big in the capital city of India. Jolly is struggling to hit the big league, while just managing to survive in the urban city. He stumbles upon a case in which a drunk rich kid runs his car over a group of people sleeping on the pavement. A love story of a middle aged couple. Directed by Bela Sehgal (Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister) is different from the Shirin Farhad tales we have heard of. It isn’t a love story about teeny boppers or the handsome guy and a beautiful lady. This one is about the love story of a man and woman who appear to be in their forties. A new trend is witnessed in bollywood. If a film is an action oriented – it has to be a Sikh or a Punjabi family background. And the safest bet now is even if there is an undercurrent of humour although it is a love story; it has to be about Parsis. Thankfully, there is an attempt to portray the Parsi community, depicting realistic moments - just like they exist inIndia.
