Batwara 1947, produced by Aamir Khan Films and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. It is written jointly by Asghar Wajahat and Rajkumar Santoshi. The film was released one day before Independence, on August 14. It is a very moving classic that talks about the perils of Partition and explores a deeply emotional chapter of Indian history to the big screen through a story of families, loss, resilience and humanity. Set in the city of Lahore in Punjab region, Batwara 1947 is a historical tale of the division of Punjab, displacement and human connection and depicts the emotional cost of the partition of India.
