Bodhisattva International Film Festival (BIFF) inaugurated by Shatrughan Sinha, Sharda Sinha (Famous Singer) and Akhilendra Mishra
16 Feb 2017, Patna; Bodhisattva International Film Festival commenced with the arrival of all the dignitaries, Shri Shiv Chandra Ram – Hon’ble Minister of Art, Culture & Youth Department, Government of Bihar. The other guests of honour were Maharaja of Baroda, Shri Jeetendra singh Gaekwad, Shri Shatrughan Sinha, Sharda Sinha (Famous Singer); Akhilendra Mishra; Asadur Rehman, State head, UNICEF, Bihar.
The ceremony started with the National Anthem followed by lighting of the lamp. The ceremony was also attended by the likes of dignitaries like Aseem Bajaj, Cinematographer & Producer; Leena Yadav, Director of the opening Film Parched; Tanishttha Chatterjee, Actress – Parched & Angry India Goddesses.
Sneha Routray, President of Grameen Sneh Foundation addressed the dignitaries and the audience with a welcome speech followed by an introductory speech on “Bodhisattva International Film Festival” by Shri Akhilendra Mishra”. Maharaja of Baroda Shri Jeetendra Singh Gaekwad said “Bodhisattva International Film Festival is a great platform for culture exchange”. He added “It is an honour being in Bihar and he feels privileged to be on the soil of Aryabhatta”.
Shatrughan Sinha said “I am delighted to be in my hometown and Bodhisattva International Film Festival has brought in a great platform in Bihar for cultural exchange through cinema.”
The grand finale and prize distribution of ‘Bihar – Ek Virasat’ an initiative which was run by Grameen Sneh Foundation throughout the year in Bihar was also held with the opening ceremony of BIFF 2017.
3543 Films from 122 countries have been received as entries to the festival under Feature film, Documentaries and Shorts categories. From which more than 100 movies to be screened and most of the films are from India, Iran, USA, France, Italy, Spain, U.K., Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Bangladesh, Canada, Portugal, Austria, Maxico, Poland Australia, Indonesia, etc. And Many small countries are participating for the first time.
