Rush

Jo aadmi risk nahi leta, uska sub kuch risky ho jata hai – which means Life becomes risky for the person who doesn’t take risks in life.

Rush is the story of a struggling television crime reporter Samar Grover (Emraan Hashmi), based in Delhi, who has toiled to make his talk show gain popularity and some respectability.

The film is directed by the late Shamin Desai and Aditya Pancholi, Neha Dhupia and Sagarika Ghatge as other main characters of the film. It is a story based on media, crime and politics.

Samar’s talk show has gained popularity at the cost of his family life with a disenchanted wife (Sagarika Ghatge).

This time the investigative news reporter has gone a bit too far this time, feels his boss, and soSamaris out of job. He gets another opportunity in the form of Lisa (Neha Dhupia), a rival media tycoon who has offered him huge money to join her channel.

Lisa has another plan in mind for this young reporter, as she connives with Roger Khanna (Aditya Pancholi) one of the top richest men in the country.

These tycoons play a game of chess and manipulateSamarjust like a pawn in the board game, which plunges him into a game of life and death. Why is destiny showering so much all of a sudden? There has to be some murky twist at the next turn in his life.

Behind the gloss of money, power and media lies the bitter truth which is unbelievable and shocking.

The topic of hard life behind the glamour in media has been dealt with in several recently released flicks. Blood Money and a bit earlier – Peepli Live and Its Breaking News. Overall the film lacks the intensity, finesse and the grip of a thriller. Emraan Hashmi has done a decent job.

Neha Dhupia as Lisa, the other woman, is quite a hottie and sensual in her role. Sagarika Ghatge isn’t given much of an opportunity to display her skills. Aditya Pancholi as the tough tycoon is just okay.

It disappoints and has nothing new to offer.

Go for the film only if you are a Hashmi fan.
