C Kkompany, movie review

C Kkompany is a story three underdogs in three different age groups staying in a middle class society. Three of them are great friends and are striving to achieve their respective dreams.

One day while playing a harmless prank, things take a drastic turn and a series of events follow which take them on a journey they had never imagined.

Three friends Akshay Kumar (Tusshar Kapoor), Mr. Joshi (Anupam Kher) and Lambodar Jha (Rajpal Yadav) have their own share of troubles as a common man. While Akshay is a struggling crime reporter, Mr. Joshi is a retired accountant troubled by his ungrateful son. Lambodar finds it difficult to deal with his wife over his job. Together they share their plight and find solace in each other’s company.

On one occasion, their play a harmless prank to tackle their problems which leads to a series of events that puts them into media spotlight. But things don’t stop there. Thrilled at this, they put their new found fame to good use, and this in turn triggers off a series of incidents, which propel them to such heights that the three become the talk of the nation.

Things get beyond their control, and the three are left with no choice but to be mute spectators to their newly acquired fame, especially since no one knows their identity.

Sachin Yardi, scriptwriter of Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Traffic Signal (2007) and now C Kkompany, debuts as a director in this film C Kkompany – which deals with ordinary men placed in extra-ordinary situations. Raima Sen for the first time portrays a lead character’s role in commercial cinema.

The film culminates with the 3 under-achievers successfully achieving their goals while managing not to reveal their identity, which remains a mystery for everyone and how a twist in the tale at the end, ensures that their legacy continues!

Anupam Kher and Tushar Kapoor finally give a good Comedy Drama. The Story was Interesting and the Best Character was Jha’s Rajpal Mithun as Datta Bhai also has done a good role patronizing the tele-soap stars.

References are to the craze and popularity of Saas Bahu serials (2000 to 2008) in C Kkompany.

The director wants to show how the media and public hype makes gangsters or terrorists out of ordinary people.
