Chehere, a modern day classic, movie review
It is a period drama set in 1952 in England. Chehere is a story about three women, who are actresses. Tarana (Manisha Koirala) was a superstar of the silent era, is retired from the glam and glitz. Could be her instinctive realisation that she has entered her waning period as a glam-girl in Bollywood, hence she moves away to the U.K. Chehere is a psychological thriller film written and directed by Rohit Kaushik which revolves round the life of this Diva of yester-years. Tarana still leads a high standard of living and she has even called her sister Amanat (played by Divya Dutta), a poetess, to stay with her in a huge mansion in the UK. However Tarana shares a bitter relationship with her. Amanat who was a singer also had starry aspirations, unfortunately she leads a crippled life and is confined to a wheelchair. Gauraiya, hindi movie review
Gauraiya  is about Shefali is writing a book on Dacoits of Chitrakoot as she is has taken up the issue of crime and the atrocities hurled towards its victims. This offbeat film is based on true incidents with an imaginary story portrayal of a desert area somewhere in Patna in North India, a place of the poor and downtrodden people who are victimized by dacoits. Shefali travels all the way to the hinterland and meets a downtrodden and sexually exploited woman Gauraiya from a village named Harijanpur which is situated in the backward area of Patna. She had kept the title of the book as END OF CRIME. It was child marriage for Gauraiya when she was a little girl was married by the elders in the village to a boy Sukhna. A thriller drama about two brothers of diverse natures yet harbouring love and affection for each other. In fact, the audience is treated with the base themes from Kasme Vaade (1978) and the Hollywood's science fiction thriller Face Off (1997).
