Malayalam cinema has always welcomed him with open arms, and as M16 Agent in Lucifer 2:Empuraan, that his character would create a deeper impression, feels Alexx O’Nell as he returns in a high-stakes face-off with Mohanlal.
The Lucifer saga – Lucifer 2: Empuraan is set to release on March 27, and this time, it’s bigger, bolder, and more badass than ever. International Actor and Musician Alexx O’Nell returns as Agent Robert McCarthey in the highly anticipated ‘Lucifer 2: Empuraan’. With Prithviraj Sukumaran back in the Directors chair, and Mohanlal reprising his role as the enigmatic Khureshi Ab’raam, L2E expands the Lucifer trilogy with high-octane action, gripping drama, and an explosive international narrative. 2019’s Lucifer opened with Robert McCarthy (Alexx) tracking Khureshi Ab’raam (Mohanlal), the leader of a powerful global crime syndicate, from Interpol headquarters. Now, in Empuraan, their paths finally collide with deadly results.
“Being even a modest part of this epic trilogy alongside legends like Mohanlal and Prithviraj is an absolute honor,” says Alexx O’Nell. “I’m thrilled that Empuraan takes my character deeper into the story, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience the scale and intensity of what we’ve created. Malayalam cinema has always welcomed me with open arms, and I feel incredibly grateful to be back.”
Best known for his work in English and Hindi, the actor was last seen in Ae Watan Mere Watan with Sara Ali Khan and Emraan Hashmi, and his most recent song Ghosts continues to feature on the radio internationally. Nevertheless, Empuraan marks Alexx’s fifth Malayalam film, having previously appeared in Gangster and Manglish with Mammootty, as well as Santosh Sivan’s magnum opus Urumi alongside Prithviraj and Prabhu Deva.
No stranger to adventure in real life as well, Alexx took some time off from filming L2E in Ladakh to live his best biker life — solo-riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan from Leh to Kargil, braving extreme temperatures, snowy passes, and some of the world’s most breathtaking mountain roads. Talk about dedication to the thrill!
Alexx O’Nell is locked and loaded for a blockbuster 2025. He’s all set to dominate Bollywood, Mollywood, and Tollywood with a power-packed release schedule following L2E on 27th March, including:
– ‘Phule’ on 11th April – with Prateik Gandhi and Patralekhaa Paul, directed by Ananth Mahadevan,
– ‘Kesari 2’ on 18th April– A captivating drama with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan,
