Desi Kattey film review
An action drama based in a small town Mungera, near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, situated at the shores of the Holy river Ganga. It is a story of two kids who grow up to become India’s best sharp shooters thanks to the childhood they spend in the 'katta' (hand-made pistol) factory. Director Anand Kumar takes a plunge as the producer of Desi Kattey (the director of Delhi Heights, Jugaad & Zilla Ghaziabad). A story of two two friends, who earn their livelihood working in a factory manufacturing local guns and they tend to learn shooting and become known for their sharp shooting acumen. Being orphans, this was the only support system for them to fend their way through their childhood. It is about their journey (Pali - Akhil Kapur and Gyani - Jay Bhanushali) of how one of them represents India as a shooter in the Olympics and the other joins the under-world. It depicts the new generation and its instinctive reactions to various situations they experience. For the college going, this film would be welcomed. A touching film based on the life of Deepak Singh in Rajasthan who comes to the City of Dreams - Mumbai with his wife and daughter in hope of a better life. CITYLIGHTS - movie review... The film CITYLIGHTS is a remake of the BAFTA nominated British film Metro Manila (2013). Deepak Singh (Rajkummar Rao) was in the army much earlier. As he wanted to be with his family, he quits the job and sets up a cloth store in Rajasthan. Being unlucky, his debts go on piling on with compounded interest which finally leads to shutters down on the shop. He has nothing to do. Nowhere to go. Pulkit Samrat and Bilal Amrohi are television journalists whose show is on a decline in popularity. They are warned by their female boss that they could lose their jobs untill they come up with something sensational, expose story of a scam or something. The premise of O Teri is lifted from yesteryear classic, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, yet is fraction of it on entertainment value. Prantabh a.k.a. PP (Pulkit Samrat) and Anand a.k.a. A.I.D.S.
